The truck was posted outside the Carlsbad Seapointe Resort on Thursday from 5-7pm. The Baja Shrimp and a Brisk Ice Tea was more expensive than I wanted, though frankly it was worth every penny. I had that burrito and it was perfect on a Mid December evening. The tortilla was a flour similar to the pressed Panchero burritos, and while I like spice, they didn’t ask, and it was still fine - I’m talking to you San Diego Zoo, liars, non-sequitur. The tea was just a can of Brisk. I would have that again, though I might plan on bringing a drink instead. I might also see if they can spice it, put something spicier than their salsa verde, it would be fine exactly as I asked for though.
They seemed to have cream and cheese on everything, which for those for which lactose has chosen to fight you like me, is a consideration. I also didn’t see any vegetarian options, ‘surf and turf’ was next to the ‘Baja shrimp’ and ‘Baja fish’ for which I chose the more expensive pesca-whatever I pretend to be. I might try the fish next time, though as it’s in California I would have expected a meat alternative, fish was fine for me, maybe I hold the idea of California above where it actually is.
The parking, it’s a food truck so that doesn’t make a lot of sense. There are no tables, it is packed to take nicely though. It would be great on a blanket at the beach in summer I bet. The drinks were iced, and non-alcoholic from what I could see.
