I have been somewhat of a regular at Mariscos and our last experience will be our last. Either there is new ownership or something. We recently visited for dinner. A couple larger tables but otherwise quiet. A waitress and a cook. Challenged to get the food out and then they gave me a little plastic bag with my plastic fork and spoon in it like on an airplane. The prices are definetly up there as well. Vista has no shortage of Mexican restaurants. Properly staffing, quality setting at the table etc is key. Not to mention the food. It was not bad but not good enough to compensate for all the other negatives.

This a a great authentic Mexican restaurant with a friendly staff willing to accommodate your needs. I come here often because of the awesome food quality and generous staff hospitality. 100 recommend this location to anyone looking for delicious food or bomb micheladas!

Horrible attitude, service and atmosphere ( dirty and run down)- food very mediocre. But what really turned us off was the people who served us ( both bartender and waiter) they acted like we were bugging them as soon as we came in!! we should have walked out …AND they still serve food using plastic utensils. (tacky) There are too many other Mexican restaurants to go to for this..bye bye!!! you just lost a customer.

We went in to get something to take to the performance at the moonlight that evening, the young lady at the counter was very nice. We ordered a couple of burritos to go, she offered us chips and salsa to enjoy as we waited for or food. The chips were fresh and the salsa was delicious (a bit on the thin side) but the flavor was very very good, my friend and I loved the heat. Will definitely go back.

Got 2 tostadas de ceviche and 2 cheese enchiladas yesterday, it was finely ground shrimp and the veggies were old, not worth 7.68$/tostada and the enchiladas were super skimpy not worth the money! They charge high end prices and don't give you high end food, if you want really good mariscos go to German's in san marcos instead their pricey but its actually worth the money if you wanna pay top dollar and get fast food quality mariscos then go to Las palmas

If you happen to visit Vista, I recommend you try this restaurant for some Mexican food that tastes home made without all the fancy stuff you find at some other restaurants. The hot sauces are good and so is the food. The interior has a more authentic Mexican feel to it and it is located in a plaza with ample parking.

Time for a Pandemic update, two years in. I am glad that they're still standing, yet the pandemic and now inflation has taken a toll on this once fine restaurant. The owner and the staff are still as wonderful as before, and yet the food quality has nosedived, and for the first time in years I tried Carnitas. I should have tried it elsewhere, and I will next time, only somewhere where the meat doesn't arrive heavily (and inedibly) pre-salted. I fear that inflation is impacting them more than the pandemic, judging by the lower quality of the dishes the serve, and speaking of dishes, their proper utensils have been replaced with the cheapest plastic cutlery. This no longer feels like a proper restaurant and I sigh for the environment. It's sad to see, and more sad is the need to find a new place for fine Mexican Food. Maybe we'll have to head to Mi Guadajara in Escondido. We haven't been there since the pandemic began and maybe they've better weathered the storm. When the stars and reviews begin moving up, we will try here again - here's crossing my fingers :-)

The staff are polite but the food was overpriced.

I ordered #11 which was 2 chile rellenos with beans, rice and tortillas with a cucumber and lime drink. My husband ordered a carne asada burrito with a lime drink. My husband said the meat was very juicy which is a good thing but had to eat it fast before the flour tortilla fell apart. I have nothing to complain on my plate. It was good the chilies where a little smaller than normal but I'd go eat there again.

Food was great! I had the fish tacos and will definitely be going back for more. The owner of the restaurant is awsome and very attentive. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for delicious Mexican sea food and other dishes.
