good atmosphere but that's about it. There is no service aside from when you actually order. Took my dad there for his birthday because we heard so much good about it there, every one of us walked away disappointed. food was just ok, honestly all of of thought they buy the food from a grocery store and just reheat it. we tried it, didn't like it, won't be eating at that specific When Pigs Fly any more.

Thanksgiving accommodations were amazing. Great brisket (: , great turkey. They went out of their way to make sure I was happy. Will return and would absolutely recommend. 5 stars.

Bbq sounded delicious and they had tons of good meat options. Opted for the pulled pork sando. It took twenty minutes to come out and there were only two parties in the restaurant . Bun wasn’t fluffy or toasted or even warm didn’t look appealing. Coleslaw was an extra dollar for not even a tablespoon of slaw which didn’t look or taste like it was made in house, a real bummer and won’t come here again unfortunately.

If you don't have pecan pie are you even a BBQ place? In all seriousness this place is the best BBQ around. Ribs are amazing. Sides are to die for. Highly recommend. Go for the pig candy. You wont regret it. Wish the gas station location was open as it's close to my house.

I had Ribs my wife had chicken. Sides were potato salad, mashed potatoes and, corn. Pork Ribs were OK at best(Dry). Chicken looked awful on the plate served pulled pork style, taste was OK. Wife wouldnt touch it. Server was kind and informative. Sides: Corn must have been cooking all week. Dry an little flavor. Garlic mashed potatoes again ok. Potato salad pretty good. Not sure if it was to be served cold or warm. It was warm. Corn muffin would have been pretty good had it not had pieces of the over cooked corn. Hawaiian roll was no more than a dinner roll. Costco dinner rolls have better flavor but it was ediblewith butter. Hoping it was because it was between lunch and dinner that the food was poorly prepared. Regardless for the price it should have been much better.

Very good BBQ! I had the 2 meat combo with 2 sides and corn bread for $17. Big servings of meat and sides, you will be full when finished (BBQ beans and garlic mashed potatos). All of it tasted great and 4 choices of sauce on the table made it that much better. My wife had the pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw on top and and said it was also very good. We'll be back again for sure.

Had the shrimp pu'boy buns were too big and kinda like day old bread texture, but over all the sandwich was lots of good flavor. Sauces are pretty yummy fun names like Sassy sauce. Mac n' cheese was great. Coleslaw pretty good. Could have used some pepper. Kids ribs were yummy and the fries were well seasoned.

Most of what we wanted, they were out of. Nice that nothing's smothered in bbq sauce. Pepsi products and country music for ppl who like that. Hot bbq sauce is not hot. Beer options, okay.

We have been getting BBQ from When Pigs Fly for a long time now and it is usually pretty good, even though sometimes inconsistent. Yesterday, we ordered food again, rack of pork ribs and brisket like always. Ribs didn’t look the same as always, they were smaller and it was definitely not a whole rack (when you order often you know what you should get, usually 12 bones and we were given 8) - same with brisket, just didn’t look like it was full 1.5 lbs. When we got home, I weighed the brisket and it was 1 pound and 4 oz which is 4oz short of what they charge us for (over $100 by the way for the meat and 2 sides plus bread pudding) . On top of all that, ribs were terrible - not seasoned properly, dry and hard and looked pale - I can seriously make better ribs on my little smoky Joe smoker. Brisket was chopped into small pieces for some reason. We were very disappointed with the food and with the restaurant ripping us off - if this is how they are doing business now, we will have to find another BBQ place. I don't mind spending money on good BBQ but over $100 for dry and unseasoned rack or ribs (we paid for full rack but got 2/3) and 1.5 lbs of brisket (paid for 1.5lbs and got 4 oz less) plus 2 sides and pudding is just disgusting.

The cuisine is really inexpensive and just takes a minute to prepare. Enjoy your dinner in a trendy, quick, and delicious setting. Excellent addition to the downtown atmosphere. Buy some!

I hired When Pigs Fly BBQ for my 120 person wedding and they knocked it out of the park! Izzy was excellent at communicating and answering any of my questions/concerns. There was plenty of food, everything was warm when it was served and the guests still comment on how yummy it was.

We went to their original location several years ago and LOVED IT. When we came back to SD, we were excited to check out their new place. The street it is on wasn't busy when we were there, but parking was still a challenge. I can't imagine it during high season. We were disappointed to find that they were out of several menu items, the pulled pork was very salty and the macaroni and cheese was mushy. What a shame!

Best BBQ I've had since Louie Mueller's in Texas! Tried the brisket and the pulled pork. Superb! Next time I'll try the sausage and the chicken.

I brought my youngest daughter Aubree down for her graduation luncheon with all of her siblings. We ordered the family pack 6 to 8 people plus a full rack of pork ribs. It comes with 3 pounds of meat, four large sides, eight muffins, and three peach cobblers plus or minus ice cream. The service was quick, and for a party of eight with two kids under four this place was extremely convenient and accommodating. The pork ribs had a mild dry rub, The four meats that came with the family pack we chose tri-tip, brisket, pulled chicken, and sausage. Everything was excellent. The four sides we chose were garlic mashed potatoes, mac & cheese, coleslaw, and barbecued beans. All four were excellent as well. They offer three different barbecue sauces ranging from sweet and mild, to a spicy habanero. All three were very good and unique. Prices were reasonable. Definitely recommend this barbecue place if you're in the area dying for some good barbecue.
