Another great meal! We've been here before with a large group of 20 and just dinner for 2. Tonight was 6 of us and their quality and consistency is top notch. Blood orange whiskey sour is a must try and their carnitas are on point. Thanks for another great meal!
Food was great, initially brought me a glass that was not clean. Noise level is usually too loud
Happy hour here is excellent
Food was great , our waiter was good but the host didn't know what she was doing. Having a reservation she told us that the table she had saved for us was occupied and we would have to wait . There were plenty of other tables so it didn't make sense , we were then seated at the bar. Strange , but otherwise was a good experience.
Taco Tuesday all day happy hour with 5 dollar margaritas and tacos is such an amazing deal!!!! The margaritas were strong and tasty!!!
We enjoyed our food. My husband had the fish taco and I had the chicken enchilada. We ate on the patio after 4:00 so we received the Happy Hour pricing for guacamole and chips which was great. Our waitress wasn't too attentive. We sat for a good 15 mins. after we finished our meal for our bill and finally had to ask her for it. She had passed by our table numerous times and saw we were finished and our plates were taken away and were just waiting for the bill.
Great food and drinks
Disappointing Dining Experience at Bar Camino
We visited Bar Camino hoping for a fun evening, but unfortunately, the food and service left a lot to be desired. One of our party has food allergies, but the server refused to accommodate any substitutions, which seriously limited their options.
Three of us ordered the cheese enchiladas and beef tacos, and all were served barely warm—closer to room temperature than what you'd expect from a nice Mexican restaurant. Not only was the food underwhelming, but the server didn’t check on us until we were already finished and ready to leave, making it too late to address the issue.
While the bar area was crowded and lively (seems like a popular place for drinks), I wouldn’t recommend Bar Camino for the food or dining experience. There are better options in Walnut Creek if you're looking for good service and a quality meal.
The service was exceptional. My food arrived to the table barely warm. I asked the server if they had a microwave. I hate wasting food. She told me there was no microwave and that she would replate my dinner. It came out very quickly piping hot and she did not mind it at all. The lemonade was perfect but the rice in my meal was green due to them cooking it with cilantro (I think). I love cilantro and Mexican cuisine is my favorite, but when cilantro is cooked in that manner it can have a soapy taste. The flank steak was tasty but a little chewy. The tamale meat had a good taste but the masa over-shadowed the meat. The ambiance was very. Not too loud but festive enough. I don't live in the area, but I would return just for the lemonade if I were in the area, but I think I can find a better food spot elsewhere.
Best Salsa in Bay Area!!!! Slow service, but great food, amazing drinks and friendly staff.
Restaurantji Recommends
Bar Camino is our favorite place! We are so grateful for this restaurant and especially the kind and exceptional staff. They accommodated us perfectly and I will shout their praises from the rooftop. The food is delicious. The atmosphere is fun and it is beginning to feel like home. I cannot recommend this restaurant and the people that work there enough!
My new favorite spot! Delicious food and drinks with easy parking. It's got a great vibrant atmosphere and a fun waitstaff. Totally recommend!
This is the most authentic and well prepared upscale Mexican cuisine in Contra Costa County
Simply marvelous!
Really great Al pastor Tacos.
I came in for a lunch with a buddy of mine and was blown away by the tacos and tortilla soup. Hand-pressed tortillas, great flavor on the Al pastor, and the tortilla soup was just as good. Highly recommend coming in for a great atmosphere and great food
