Breakfast food is very average. Thin bacon, cake like pancakes, poor hash browns.

Dropped in as a walk in with hubby on a lazy Saturday late morning and ended up spending two hours at Butter Cup experiencing the best food coma with the eggs Benedict and Banana French toast.

Best date ever!

They gave us pale pancakes for $12.99. It was not fluffy as you would want a pancake. Like seriously?

Great American diner with lots of options. I went with the fried chicken on biscuits and smothered in gravy. This came with some spicy country spuds. Delicious! the photo does not do it justice. My friend got a loaded omelette which he really enjoyed. The staff were friendly in a way that only old time diners can be. our waitress was sweet and attentive. The prices were very reasonable, especially considering the portions. would def recommend.

I will never come here again. The female waitress was horrible. I ordered fettuccine Alfredo. The food server Alejandra F was holding my plate of food in one hand and a dirty towel in the other hand to clean other tables. I was so disgusted at the poor hygiene and bad service. I did not finish my food. Now It’s know why this restaurant is empty.

First time visiting for a team luncheon. Great food...try the sunrise scramble! A cozy diner and friendly warm atmosphere. Carla, the server who served our group was wonderful and efficient. The establishment was very clean and the best part was the next slice of coconut cream pie that I ever had! I'll return for another meal or two.

The food was delicious and I am not a breakfast eater, but my 11 year-old asked for a kids menu because she does not eat like a full grown adult and the hostess was adamant that she order from the regular menu and gave her a regular menu even though a Kids meal was more appropriate for her, but they’re cut off was at 10 years old and she exceeded it by a few months, after the waitress took her order and brought food she brought it to our attention again that she was not suppose to order off the kids menu…. Good food horrible way to welcome your guest, our waitress was great though.

This was the worst breakfast I’ve ever had. Everything was cold and flavorless. The potatoes weren’t cooked all the way through. The biscuits were bland. The eggs were over cooked. Our server, Jasmine, never came back to check on us and was just a terrible and inattentive server overall. I don’t recommend wasting $50 on a two person breakfast here.

Buttercup is a good restaurant for casual dining. The menu is comprehensive, and the food tastes fresh. Their coffee comes at just the right level of hot without burning your tongue off on the first sip.

Service was good. I would have appreciated a few more visits from the server to make sure my coffee was refilled, but I must note the service was not lacking.

I had the Daniel B omelet. It was a substantial amount of food; good value for your dollar. It was delicious and they did not skimp on the ingredients.

Check this place out next time you're in Walnut Creek!
