Water glasses had lipstick wax around the rims.
Ordered entrees that came back unavailable
appetizers were nothing special.
A Beefeater Martini (ordered as just Beefeater and 2 olives) was somehow favored with something indisernable.
Ganster rap music played as we tried to enjoy the few entrees options that were available.
240$ for three guests that will never go back.

Super cute atmosphere for dinner and drinks with the girls. Presentation of food and drinks was great especially as I am someone who eats with their eyes. After we received our food, we weren’t checked on but when we did interact with staff, they promptly serviced us. We’ll be back very soon to try the rest of the drink menu.

French-inspired restaurant that had a variety of menu options and amazing service. Our server, Alina, provided excellent menu suggestions and made our experience one to remember. We will be back!

Very very slow service! We had to wait for our table which was fine so we ordered drinks which is the only reason they are getting two stars instead of one the bar tending was amazing! Once we sat we placed a good order then finished our drinks before the food came. We can go flag down someone to bring us the bill which was unfortunate because we really wanted a 2nd round but after 30 min for the waiter completely forgetting that we were there we decided we would try another restaurant that has better services and values your time. It’s a shame since I had changed our plans to come here because I was excited about there drinks and food. If you have a lot of time and are ok waiting with empty drinks before your order is taken worth it but if you don’t have a ton of extra time you are trying to kill go anywhere else in Walnut Creek!

Went yesterday for lunch and was super impressed with everything. No idea why it was slow but if that’s the norm, make this your go-to lunch spot when you’re in the area.

The food was excellent. The drinks were amazing. And the service was quick and friendly. 10/10. No notes!

This was my first time at this restaurant and my husband was excited to take me there. We had the honor and privilege to have Elaina as our server and she was the most genuine, kind, and caring person. I wanted to make sure her manger knew it and I spoke with her and I could tell the culture that they are creating here. Please check out this spot it is well worth it!

Avoid this place at all costs. They don’t honor reservations and are extremely rude.

Chateau is a downtown Walnut Creek favorite if you’re in the mood for a refined but relaxed dining experience with a European twist. Located right in the heart of the city, it’s a great choice for date night, cocktails with friends, or a celebratory dinner.

The menu features a mix of small plates, charcuterie, elegant entrees, and seasonal offerings — perfect for sharing or savoring at your own pace. The cocktails and wine list are thoughtful and well-crafted; we particularly enjoyed the creative martinis and pours that complemented the food beautifully.

We had a lovely dinner with a mix of charcuterie, a fresh salad, and a standout main, and everything was flavorful and artfully presented. The outdoor patio seating is a nice bonus on pleasant evenings, giving it a lively yet comfortable vibe.

Service was warm and attentive, and while the space can fill up quickly (especially on weekends), reservations make the visit smooth and enjoyable. The ambiance strikes a nice balance between classy and casual — elevated without feeling stuffy.

My friends and I visited Chateau last month for our yearly Christmas get-together during weekday lunch. The restaurant wasn’t crowded, and we were seated promptly by friendly hosts.

Our server was polite but not very attentive, especially compared to the rest of the staff. We ordered several basic dishes—truffle fries, Brussels sprouts, grilled chicken sandwich, Caesar wrap, quinoa bowl, truffled grilled cheese, and a burger. The food was mediocre and not worth the price.

Unfortunately, the experience was ruined when a live insect was found moving in the burger my friend was served. We were completely mortified and immediately lost our appetite. While the host offered a replacement, no credit or comp was provided for the contaminated dish, which was very disappointing given the seriousness of the situation.

The ambience is nice, but for how expensive the bill was, the quality and sanitation issues make this place not worth the visit .

Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant.

Please note, this review is for New Year’s Eve, where there was a pre fix menu, so this was not a regular night of service. That said we had a very disjointed time and the restaurant was definitely not ready for the evening.

Service: our server seemed confused by what each of us had ordered and what wine we wanted to go with the pairing as each dish landed with someone else. The meal took about 2 1/2 hours. Most of it was waiting for food.

Food: all of the portions were irretrievably small and perhaps looked like they were made far ahead of time? I ordered the rigatoni pasta and the pasta came out with mainly noodles and just a hint of sauce, no identifiable pork Ragu. My wife had the mushroom risotto which didn’t seem as if it was fully cooked and was very bland tasting.

Atmosphere: the space is quite exquisite and makes very very homey and cozy feeling. The decor is elegant and table settings were impeccable.

The menu did not disclose that the tip would be added on automatically despite the fact that the table was only for four people. So adding 20% to a very marginal meal is tough to swallow.

Fun energetic atmosphere, geared toward a younger crowd! The food was good, the menu short, with good cheerful staff.
