People need to be more honest in their reviews. Went there at 1pm April 1, 2024. Place was untidy with a sticky counter. Bar girl had no idea how to pour a Guinness. Also she was focused on playing games with other patrons, not serving. So why is a tip still so expected ? Tipping is for someone doing something extra - not just doing their job.

Where dreams go to die. Horrible experiences are hard to forget. It appears people treat each other better in the poorest and most dangerous cities in the world. It was disturbing and kind of gross. My bad for going back more than once. Gave them extra chances, because every bar has an off night or a few off nights, and there was no way the owner(s) be so unconscious, adults so petulant. Unfortunately, intensely bad first impressions were correct. I regret giving this toxic pit more than one chance. A vortex of rudeness, with only one exception- the only bartender who made an effort to be friendly but whose energies were entirely monopolized by drunken regulars shouting over one another or grabbing us, or pushing and shoving, for no particular reason. Not a safe space. The sound (flat), the layout (awkward), the disgusting carpet and bathroom with nothing working (cheap owners are the worst), the bullying and shouting (bouncer did nothing to help, but maybe burned out.) Hard pass.

We were out downtown and saw they had an 80’s cover band. Thought we would give the bar a go. First time to Dan’s. The band was AMAZING. These guys were the real deal. Spazmatics was the name of the band.Bar staff couldn’t have been nicer. We hung at the bar most of the night. It was PACKED. Bar tender made sure we were taken care and checked in on us often.Vibe of the bar was definitely party. Super diverse crowd. Tons of energy. Looks like the bar does a great job of booking live entertainment.Overall- had a blast! We will absolutely be back!! Thanks for a great night !!

Very nice hole in the wall bar with two pool tables. They have live music every Friday night and weekends. Very popular spot for locals. Derek is the best.

Small venue but a Great place for Live music.Small dance floor and it gets even smaller when patrons stand in front of the band that is playing and films the band. ?.Bar set up is good as it has a "Wrap around set up" and multiple servers are spread out in diffferent areas of the bar so waiting for for your drink order is not too long on a busy night.Two pool tables in the back are very popular. So you can enjoy a game of pool and see and hear the bands easily.The Wrap around bar set up works well in the area of the pool tablesWe noticed lots of people migrating back into the pool table area when they first arrive.Bathrooms are located back by the pool tables.Cover charge.Park in the public parking garage across the street from the Lesher Theater and its a 5 minute walk to Dan'sBartenders know their sh--!Parking: Event parking in the Public parking garage is $5.00 per car.We checked in at 6pm and was good until 2am for $5.00.

came here for new year's eve. good party vibe if ur into that. but one of the bartenders was so rude and condescending to me. she made me feel like an idiot and talked to me like i was 5 years old. wouldn't recommend that energy for your bar.
Dan's in addition to being an institution of downtown Walnut Creek, is a great place to sit down kick back and enjoy a cold beverage . A folksy bar where you might expect "Norm" to pop in, the bartenders know their craft and make you feel welcome.

Charged me $22 for a gin on the rocks, haha high end restaurants downtown don't even charge that much. I guess if you come in here for a drink they have to make up the cost for all the regulars that probably don't pay. Get the hell out of here charging me that in a dive bar.
