Food was excellent as always but the service was slow and not attentive at all. We should ask for water several times, the order was taken late... We had been at least more than 6 times there and never the service was like that.
Consistently great food beautiful restaurant. Appreciated their attention to food allergies.
Food was usual ther service was absolutely the worst I've experienced there in my years of going to the Walnut Creek location. And mind you I've lived in the area since I was little.
Had the lobster ravioli which was very good, and the veal scaloppini which was excellent,.
Typically good and well-prepared food, it was a challenge to get our wine ordered to coincide with our meal. Wait staff are very nice, but seemed a bit overwhelmed.
food was delicious. bit our waitress was a mess. she hat a rats nest up i her hair that had me worried i would find hair in my food she dripped wine in the table when pouring. her hand was very shaky she almost dropped our pasta plates and carried them one on top of each other. she then missed half the plate when grating parm cheese. she was nice but not sure she is at right job
They made us wait 30 mins to setup table and waitress would forget one item or other from The order. They charged us for the bread which seemed complimentary by the way she asked. Felt tricked, pasta was too dry!
Celebrated our anniversary dinner at Il Fornaio and it was very nice. It's been a while since we've gone (to a different location) and it was very pleasant that the menu still has so many variety to choose from. Food was good. The staff was very nice and the service was excellent. It's a little pricey but we'll definitely go back again. Thank you for the complimentary tiramisu❣️
I love the attentiveness of the staff from the moment I sat down. The food came out super fast and tasted amazing full of flavor. I will be coming back and will tell all my friends and family. Great job!
We are regulars and come back but our server last night was slow to absent and the service was generally poor, hopefully it won't happen again

Routine lunch during the week, The hostess is very young and did not read my requests on my Open Table reservation. I had a bloody Mary while waiting for my gust and it was very good. I had a glass of the II Fornaio Chardonnay and it was also very good, My guest and I each ordered the Capresee Salad the tomato's and Mozzarella Cheese were good the basil leaves were large and thick and didn't go well with the salad. We shared a carpaccio appetizer but it was served with too much dried Reggiano cheese and not very much meat, we had a couple of bites, but did not finish it. We also ordered bread that was served borderline fresh. Overall not my favorite lunch. The staff and food servers try to act happy and congenial but they look like they are just going through the motions. Between the parking and location I will not be returning to the II Fornaio. But I'm persnickety try it for your self.
The service was very good. A little too much at times - didn't allow us time to review menus and discuss options. But overall very attentive. Food was good... pasta choices were good... was not blown away, but was tasty. There was a charge for bread was a bit excessive. Overall, very nice venue, service was solid and food was solid.
Great place to meet for lunch! Our food and service were top notch. We sat on the very comfortable outdoor patio, and then moved to a great table indoors for dessert and coffee, when the outside temperature became too hot. Two of us shared the delicious caesar salad, followed by the excellent pasta bolognese! Our third ordered the house salad and added shrimp. It was full of goodies. This was no ordinary house salad! Great experience overall!
Have t been here in over 10+ years and we decided to go there for my daughters 18th bday. There were 8 of us and we were at a nice large table. Restaurant wasn't full at all, maybe 5-6 other tables occupied. We had a reservation. At first the waitress was very attentive but as the night went on it got worse. She forgot a few things in the beginning no big deal. The drinks took over 15 minutes to get to us. We ordered bread and she told us after you buy one order the rest is on the house. She charged us for two orders unfortunately. The busboy/water server was more attentive than our waitress. I also had put in the reservation that it was our daughter's 18th bday and nothing special was done. Was hoping for atleast a scoop of ice cream with a candle. The food was good and it was nice ambience but the service fell short. I guess I just expected more with the place as empty as it was. And was hoping for something for my daughter's bday.
It used to be a nice restaurant but now they pre-cook everything and heat it up. We could not tell the difference in taste between three different pasta dishes. We didn't eat them. The manager was cold, aloof and not concerned. I am sure he gets a lot of complaints and is worn down. I don't think this place will make it much longer.
