mexican food, mmm, very satisfying. Came in on a Thurs. Service is typically above par. Prices that are reasonable. Kinda of like a cafe in Phoenix that I enjoyed.

This place is fine for food. Unfortunately when calling it has a weird machine asking if you know your extension- called twice...both times couldn't reach someone to order food to go. Fix this to not lose business!

I came online today to see if La Fogata was open for eat-in dining yet as Covid restrictions are being eased. My kids and I love this place. I was really disappointed to see some of the negative reviews and so I decided to write my positive one. First off, we have been coming here for years. We always order the bean dip, cheesy yummy goodness. We call it "crack" bean dip because we can't stop eating it until its devoured. Sometimes we order 2! For me, I come here for the chicken, shredded chicken to be exact. Of all Mexican restaurants I've been to, they have the best chicken hands down! I love their chicken tostadas, chicken tacos, and chicken soup. My kids vary with orders of enchiladas, burritos and tacos. They always ask to come here. Also, the service is always so nice! Family run and very personable. Karen in the bar is a love and always puts a smile on your our faces. We can't wait to be able to go and eat there again! Open, open, open....

A great little hole in the wall spot! It looks tiny from the outside so we usually just walk by it but decided to try it today for lunch and it was a great experience. We ordered the bean dip with extra cheese for a start and it was super good! We both ordered different kinds of burritos which were very tasty and such a large portion. I could only finish a quarter of mine. But the highlight of our experience was our waitress Karen B. She was exceptional! So attentive, so sweet, and went above and beyond to make our experience great. Thank you so much Karen! We'll be back!

They have a nice quiet outdoor seating area. The food portions are large. The drinks are priced right. The servers are quick and polite. This is an old resturant that has survived all the redevelopment in downtown Walnut Creek. They must be doing something right. See you next time! ?

Yikes! What is going on with this place? Anyone that is giving any more than 2 stars LITERALLY knows nothing about good Mexican food. The flavors are so bland... only flavor is grease and salt. The prices overall would be fine, if the food was edible. It is rare that I don't finish my plate when I eat. I left this place with over 80% of my food still on it. The margarita was made with fake neon green mix and tequila that tasted like gasoline. I really figured it couldn't be as bad as the other reviews were saying. WRONG! It was actually worse. Avoid this place at all cost, period!
