Great food. Feels a bit pricey, but that's not unusual these days. Excellent service at the top of the evening, which got more spotty as the place filled up (no water refills after the first 15 minutes). Still was an excellent splurge on myself.
I am already looking forward to my next dining experience at Le Sen. Special thanks to our server, Ms. Bruno for the impeccable service!
We often go to La Sen because it is one of our favorite restaurants. The owner is very gracious and the staff is friendly, caring and helpful. The food is excellent. We know we will enjoy our meal no matter what we order. A few of our favorites are: the mushroom soup, the pear salad, the Coq au Vin, the rack of lamb chops, the Moules Poulettes and the salmon. The desserts are all wonderful but one of our favorites is the Apple and Blueberry Rissoles. The atmosphere is calming and quiet. A quiet restaurant is a rare find these days and we appreciate it. Though this is rarely noted, the rest room is one of the prettiest we've seen and it always is extremely clean
Delicious food
The appetizers and main courses were cooked very well and were unique, which I liked because you could try things that are not on every other menu. The only reason it's a 4 for food is the dessert. I was excited to try the profiteroles (again, not on every other dessert menu) and it was hugely disappointing. The pastry was so hard a had to use both hands on the spoon to break it up into chewable pieces. Too bad, really, as overall the dinner was very enjoyable.
Regardless that this is our favorite restaurant in the world, we had yet another amazing experience. It was our 40th wedding anniversary. Our favorite table was reserved and waiting for us to then be surrounded with care and culinary delights. We started with a crab cake salad. It was equally balanced with a perfectly done crispy real crab cake, a lemony tartar sauce, mixed greens with apples and a light lemony dressing so as not to overpower the perfect taste of the cake. Next course was their beautiful mushroom soup, which is topped with additional mushrooms and chives. The main course is our go to.....the duck breast, fried polenta cake, green beans and carrots. The breast was served medium rare with a seasoned crispy skin. Tender, juicy and melt in the mouth breast. Since we always split the courses, we had room for dessert. A killer flourless chocolate cake with vanilla gelato, strawberries, blueberries. The server, Charles, was attentive and served our meal in perfect timing to be able to talk and relax and enjoy. Thank you so much for making our celebration a night to remember.
I had a beef tartare as a main course. The meat and garnish were great. My wife had a pork chop, it's cooked perfect !
The food, service and ambience were all excellent. I loved the onion soup followed by the scallops entree while my wife enjoyed a pear salad and crab cakes. This restaurant sits next to a sports bar and though a Warrior's game was on, the restaurant was quiet. The only challenge was parking on this section of Main Steet in Walnut Creek but the meal was well worth a short walk.
Since this is one of our favorite restaurants, we took friends here to try it. All of us loved our meals of salmon, scallops and shrimp in phyllo dough. It was a great evening spent with new friends enjoying a delicious meal!
Our waiter, Adam, was great. The vol-au-vent was one of the top dishes, of any variety, that I have ever had. Good dining value in a nice location with top notch staff throughout.

Excellent food and service. I highly recommend for lunch it's nice and quiet and it's still very good.
Easter lunch They had a handful of extra entrees for Easter. Everything was very good as usual. My favorite restaurant in Walnut Creek. Consistently good. Favorite restaurant for holidays and special occasions also. Grateful that we have this quality restaurant in our community.
My sister & I tried La Sen for the first & we had a wonderful time! The duck confit, pear salad & French onion soup were delicious. Great service & ambiance. We'll definitely be back!
The food is exquisite. Our server Claire remembered my favorite table as well as offering dinner and wine suggestions. The special bass was truly remarkable.
Several things about this restaurant make it very appealing. The prices are fair, corkage price in particular is low compared to most restaurants, the food is excellent and the service appropriate including serving cooked dishes as soon as they are ready so the temperature does not degrade waiting to by served. It can be difficult to get a reservation due to the relatively small number of seats but weekdays are usually fine. There is a large city parking garage nearby. If you enjoy French food, try this place.
