Very nice atmosphere and very tasty🥰
Best place in city.amazing deserts.great coffee.thematic vibe
The food at Marvel Cake was okay overall — I'd give it 3 stars. The Opera cake was the highlight, really well done. But the rest, like the feta & spinach pastry and chocolate croissant, were just mediocre with no standout flavor.
What really brought the experience down was the service - 1 star at best. The barista messed up my drink and didn’t acknowledge it or say a word. She seemed annoyed to even be there. The staff clearly lacked proper training and it felt like no one was managing the place.
However, the Palo Alto location is the opposite — friendly, professional, and much more welcoming. This spot needs serious improvement.
It was quite pretty, service was good and was a pleasant experience. I did not think it had a great selection of pastries and the almond croissant was on the small side. Coffee was great. Soo many bakeries in WC now.....
For the love of god, people stop hyping terrible food. I just drove 30 mins and paid 20 dollars for two disgusting and cheaply made mini cakes. Staff is lovely. It’s not their fault. But it’s just so yuk.
Pastries are excellent try for yourself when you are in Walnut Creek CA
Absolutely love this place! I got the pistachio cake and tea. Their tea is good quality which I love (Mariage Freres from France - the owner must know about good teas!). The pistachio cake was delightful - my only comment would be the crust was too hard but everything else was perfect! So glad this place opened up in Walnut Creek, we needed a cake spot like this! 🍵🍰
It certainly lives up to it's name with is sweets and pastries one can marvel at not just in how it looks but also how it tastes! While it might be pricier, it's definitely something to experience in life!!
Marvelous.

A delightful gem for espresso/cappuccino and pastry. This reminds me of some of the better patisseries in Paris.
I had seen a brief posting and then tried to find the place - but no web searches could find this "new pastry shop in Walnut Creek."
This place is well worth looking for.
We shared a croissant, almond croissant and berry galette.
All were very very good: delicate and freshly baked.
Marvel has comfortable seating and polished ambience that temps you to hang around.

We arrived at 5 PM and they barely had any pastry or cake and zero croissants. They forgot our coffee and we had to remind them 20 minutes later. Too over priced for what you get and service was horrible.

Very nice boutique pastry and coffee shop, that was very much needed in Walnut Creek. High quality ingredients both for their coffee and baked items, and great flavors. Must try!!

We recently visited Marvel Cake and had a wonderful time! The cakes and pastries looked absolutely delicious. We tried the Napoleon, pistachio tart, and vanilla cup. The venue was clean, and we loved the atmosphere. There was plenty of seating available, and the bathroom was well-maintained. The staff were friendly, and although the prices were a bit high, it was still a lovely experience overall.

This was truly one of the most disappointing experiences I’ve had especially since the original location made our wedding cake.
The food is 4.5/5. The savory dishes like the spinach Feta and the Leek feta are good when it’s prepared properly (ours was not) and they do have nice quality teas. The other dishes like the Dubai chocolate croissant is also tasty. The pistachio mouse was okay.
However this was truly some of the worst service I’ve experienced in the Bay Area. They recommended our savory dishes to be hot and yet it was served cold. We had to ask them twice to heat and it was still COLD. Moreover, they had zero regard on how long we had to wait especially when we asked them reheat the food. Simply did not care. The staff there has zero regard for the customers. What was so unacceptable though was when we asked the second time for our spinach feta to be reheated they came back with it with a WET plate. Did they not even clean and wipe the plate?? They also shoved 2 of the pastries into a small plate for my wife and I which was odd and just not professional. We also saw so many other customers today feel frustrated as their orders were coming in incorrect or they also were waiting for a long time. Overall it was such a poor service experience that you felt unwelcome and they had zero regard on apologizing for the situation.
I likely won’t ever come back for dining in but may come back for take out orders.
