Sadly, I must report that Miraku has closed after 34 years in WC. The notice I read today Oct 2nd , said they closed effective Oct 1st.

The food was fabulous and reasonably priced. I felt server was robotic and provided no reaction. I was not looking for bubliness, just a little "welcome " smile. That is all.

Since they closed in San Ramon, which we had been going to for 10 years, we ventured to WC to see if the sushi was what we remember. It was. Service was fast, decor was nice and inviting. The sushi was fresh and we were in our happy place again. Guess we will be coming to Walnut Creek for sushi!

I went in at lunch. They were busy but not packed. The waitress was very rushed. I had a Special Roll at the bar. The chef was very nice. The roll was big. It was fresh and tasted good, but not fabulous. Too much mayo in the sauces drowned out the other flavors.
