I wonder Who eats here? Their foods are disgusting! They don’t even know how to make a miso soup and put that on their menu? Oh man, I can’t believe that I actually had some food there🤮. Whole environment was weird with the people who works there too.

I didnt eat so cant speak to the food. The drinks were ok. The vibe was fun and very hip and urban. At 35 I would consider my time here decidedly rowdy. There was a brawl outside the venue which I feel is definitely not on brand for walnut creek but I was highly entertained. I will most definitely be returning it was fun.

First-time trying Modern China. After a busy day of berry picking at Brentwood, my friend and I searched for a place to eat and landed here. We got here around 4pm and the place was empty. They did have a couple of loud customers at the bar area. The roast duck fried brown rice we ordered was soo delicious, a must try if you like duck. It had the right amount of duck and also pineapple. We also had the mango chicken, which was also great. Besides mango, the dish had Jacima. It was a delicious surprise, I would have never thought to add Jicama to a dish. I've only had Jicama in salads or eaten it by itself with shrimp paste. The place was not crowded at all because Will definitely come back when I'm in the area.

Service is great, atmosphere is fine, the food, however is a little inconsistent. A couple of times our dim sum had a funky smell. We love the chow mein though!

We were there for first time, the waitress was really rude and she didn't try to open her mouse to talk and take order. When we wanted to get our check we were waiting for her at least half an hour to show off. During serving food, She never came back to our table to check what we need. We had ordered hot and sour soup and honey shrimp and curry chicken pot-clay.the soup was very cold and curry chicken taste was very bad as well. Honestly, it wasn't really all about food taste , the waitress attitude gave us really bad feeling to sit there. When ask for manger . The security guy said they don't have manger. I think that the reason. Totally disappointed.

Awesome, friendly management and great staff team. Food is hot/made to order and the menu has a variety of flavors even for vegans, vegetarians, and seafood lovers.
My fave is the salt and pepper fried fish, or the basil chicken.

I went to my nephew's Birthday party.
A very busy spot on a Saturday. They are over working their staff. I feel bad for them. But they don't show it very courteous. Bravo to the whole staff.

Kid-friendliness: I Don't know. I'd take my kids but they're in my imagination. Less expensive that way

The service and atmosphere is great. The automatic 18% gratuity for all parties vs parties smaller than 6 was strange. As a former server myself, I think it's great for the staff for obvious reasons but unless you're actually looking at the bill carefully, you'll miss that part and double tip.

The food is super low quality. Neither of us were impressed. It was salty and tasted like it was frozen. We regretted it all the way home as it seriously didn't sit right and there are much better places to eat in downtown walnut creek.

Walked in for a drink last night and bartender told us “he didn’t know enough about Arizona ID’s” to serve my friend who had an Arizona ID…? How does anyone outside of California get a drink here by this logic? No chance the bartender knows what every single states ID looks like besides Arizona….? Train your bartenders, the bouncer and server were super chill though.

I have been here before since I moved to walnut creek 3 years ago. the food has been decent and their happy hour menu is a steal since it's the same portions as the regular meals but cheaper. And it's all day long.

Firstly, when I went to pick up the food, there were 2 waitresses passing by the table, and 2 girls managing take out orders. They were all right in front of me. It took one of the girls 6-7 minutes to even address me to see what I needed. I was left standing there not being helped at all. When someone finally did, all she did was hand the bag that was sitting there the entire 6-7 minutes to me. I don't think it takes very long to ask "are you here picking up?" and then hand me a bag in a total of 10 seconds. It took so long that I actually was making eye contact with one of the cooks and even he was looking over to the girls and wondering why it was taking so long. He looked like he wanted to speak up and tell them to help me since I was standing there so long without even being addressed!

I ordered the Orange Chicken and it's very spicy and doesn't taste sweet at all. I don't know if they gave me something else by mistake. We also ordered the Honey Walnut Prawns and the Pan Fried Wontons (4). Those had to be a joke. there was a total of 7 prawns and maybe 4 walnuts. And the Pan Fried Wontons (4) were extremely small and were actually opening up and the wrapper was flapping around. The wontons had to be smaller than 1.5". The Chow Fun was decent, there wasn't much actual chow fun though??? Mostly protein and very small amount of actual noodles. I've never had such poor service or quality of food before. I used to enjoy eating here but I don't think I'll go back again. I'll probably go back to Yan's Chinese Bistro and continue to eat at Dumpling Hours and Dough Zone for noodles and dumpling needs.
