We made an online order of roughly $200 - 7 pizzas, bread sticks, wings etc. for my sons birthday party directly through their website (not Uber Eats, Door Dash etc.), the day before the party; we scheduled the delivery for 11:30am. By 12pm, the food still had not arrived and we called for an update. Around 20 minutes later, a driver not affiliated with Papa John's arrived. Upon receiving our order, we realized only half of it was included. The driver let us know that the Papa John's manager offered him $15 to drop off the food and he doesn't really know anything about our order. We called the store and explained that our food was not only almost an hour late, but only half of the order was delivered. At this point, we have about 20 starving 4-year olds and their parents waiting for food! The staff told us the receipt must have cut off half way through printing and since they made what they saw on the receipt, it wasn't their problem that half the order was missing and they would not finish the order. Worst customer service ever! Do not online order from this place! We called corporate and filed a formal complaint as well as got a full refund on the order, but it didn't solve the problem of not having enough food for our birthday party.

Food is fine, for what it is (what do you expect from Papa John's?), but they have INCREDIBLY slow delivery. Like glacial. My phone is full of messages saying they are sorry that my order is taking longer than expected. The pizza tracker will usually get stuck on step 3 ("preparing") for over an hour until they finally break down and get someone from Doordash to deliver it. Definitely not a place to order from if you have hungry children - it's faster to drive to Safeway, pick up a frozen pizza, and cook it yourself (at about 1/5 the cost, too).

If you considering work here DON’T do it ⛔️I worked for them for like a month and decided to quit for different reasons but the owner doesn’t want to pay me the hours I worked and the tips I made for that period of time. I tried to talk to him in person but he acted as a child, he was ignoring me all the time and he said he won’t pay me tips because “their policy” that I didn’t work for a long period of time and that he gave that money to the other employees (which is not true, because I asked them). Working many hard days until 2am and don’t get paid it’s not fair.It’s the owner of Papa Johns Walnut Creek, the one in Concord, one Kabob restaurant as well and a couple more in Concord.
Food is always fresh. Quick and easy pick up service.
