I’ve been a Philz fan forever, but the new Philz has lost the magic. No more ordering from a friendly barista who pours your drink in front of you and asks you to sip it to make sure it’s perfect. Now it’s as anonymous and automated as Starbucks, big printed labels on drinks, long line of people waiting forever to get their drinks… Philz has lost its soul.
The coffee is always amazing, sometimes it's made too sweet in my opinion even with the different sweetness levels, but it probably depends on the staff member. The food options have been disappointing in the past few years overall, but some of the simple baked goods have been excellent.
Great coffee and pastries but the music which is terrible btw is way too loud and the place is too cold to sit and enjoy whether with friends or working in the back. The employees are laughing and having a good time while their customers are freezing and stoned faced. Maybe it's more for the staff than customers. Cmon Phil.
