First of all - we haven't been to Ruth's for over 12 years. We were promptly seated and requested the sommelier open our 1995 Bordeaux we had brought with us. Our server was brilliant, attentive and personable. She got the sommelier over and he expertly opened and decanted our wine. Champagne round on the house, we ordered cocktails and our steaks. Drinks were great - they were happy to have us sit a while as our wine decanted before taking our steak orders. Steak and sides arrive - super hot played, hot steaks, porterhouse for 2 was perfectly cooked, sides were good although I recall the gratin being a lot better then the chopped potatoes and cheese we were served. Regardless the food was superb and we finished off with complementary desserts. Fabulous service, fabulous food, fabulous drinks. We won't be waiting 12 years for our next visit!
Expected to be overstated . It exceeded expectations with excellent service , Premium quality food and appetizers, management oversight made for a wonderful experience
We were celebrating our 47th anniversary. We had a lovely server. Enjoyed our outstanding, awesome dinner and received a complementary cheesecake dessert that was yummy. Also a champagne toast when we first came in. We'll be back for the next celebration.
The food was amazing, wine and cocktails superb. The staff we wonderful. An excellent dinning experience.
Great experience! Great service from our server Juan! I usually only get to experience Ruth's when I'm in Anaheim. This was equally as enjoyable!
We have been to many Ruth Chris restaurants prior to this visit, and it's unfortunate that this one was the nail in the coffin. Honestly this experience has ruined any future visits for our families to Ruth chris. To start, there were very rowdy crowds of birthday parties in very minimal clothing. Seemed to not be a dress code policy. The service was poor, our waiter did not seem interested in serving nor was friendly in any way. All of our steaks were cooked to the wrong temperature from rare to well done. Just an overall very poor experience. Would not recommend unless you are wanting to pay expensive prices for a sizzler quality dining experience.
The steaks were very good, cooked perfectly. My wife's filet was particularly good. The sides and apps were all nicely done as well and chocolate cake dessert was outstanding. Service was also very good-almost too good, if you know what I mean. A lot of check-ins...but we never had to ask for anything, were never rushed and everything was paced perfectly so I'll take that anytime! Also, an excellent wine list. We found a great bottle that paired well with the steaks (make mine with the Bleu cheese and garlic topping, yum!) and the dessert. Good spot for a special occasion, they took good care of us. Special shout out to whoever programmed the excellent New Orleans music played at an enjoyable, tasteful level.
I have to say the food was amazing as always and service was top notch . However the clientele has changed. We saw a young lady in see through dress w a thong on, ppl wearing not appropriate attire. Not trying to be snooty but it was kind of trashy
We come here twice a year—once in July for our anniversary and again on New Year’s Eve with our friends—and it’s always a highlight of our year.
This year, despite an unexpected challenge with the head chef not showing up, the staff went above and beyond to deliver an exceptional experience. While some guests grew impatient or even left (their loss!), Jenny and her incredible team stepped up in a big way. Our servers, Toni and Tyler, kept everything running smoothly, making sure we felt taken care of the entire time.
Yes, it was the busiest night of the year, and waiting is part of the package on nights like this, but the staff’s dedication and professionalism shined through. Their hard work, positive attitude, and ability to handle the pressure made the night memorable.
Five stars all the way—we can’t wait to come back in July!
Parking: Plenty of parking around the whole area.

The food for the price was very lack luster and bland, not hot even after getting lukewarm food, it was brought back separately leaving the table to eat at different times, with no true accommodations on the bill at end. Nothing was able to be eaten consecutively as a whole meal which Is a problem when paying these extreme prices and especially on special occasions. I feel we could have gotten the same meal for much less at a different restaurant and it would have tasted and been presented better. The weight staff was very polite. However overall I would not pick this establishment again for a special occasion. 3 stars is in consideration of the servers but I would not come back anytime soon.

Me and my husband went to Ruth Chris for New Years Eve 2025. We have been here once before and gave it a second chance. There will be no strike 3. We had been there for 2hrs and the only thing we got promptly was our salad and appetizer. Customers were complaining all over the place. We were getting ready to walk out and just pay for what little we had received. Finally after 2hrs our entree came. By then the bread, salad ,and crab cakes kicked in and we were not hungry anymore. Most of we were frustrated with how long it took to get our food (not that great for the wait $300) for a steak and white fish. That was our last time we will ever go there. BTW! Not the servers fault, but the chiefs, sous chief and kitchen staff!!😡 Put your big boy or girl panties on and rise to the challenge. Also as for the manager or general manager. When we ask to speak to you, you must of been to busy w/all the other complaints from other patrons to talk to us. I know “take a number”! HIGHLY WOULD NOT RECOMMEND Ruth Chris!!!

Came for my birthday on the 21st of December, and the service was quite slow. Ordered a steak medium rare and was brought medium well, that was quite a disappointment since it is a steak house. Unfortunately, the service has gone down, it seems since the last time I dined at Ruth's Chris.

I eat all over the Bayarea and beyond just check out my reviews. I have never been told I couldn't dine in a restaurant because I didn't smell like a bunch of Cologne. Especially getting kicked out of a chain restaurant. The staff is rude. From what I remember the food is very mediocre. I wouldn't come here.

The place was really nice it was expensive, but if you are going there you're not going for the price. The steak was so delicious, so soft and easy to chew, the garlic mashed potatoes were heavenly, smooth, and tasted wonderful.
The cheesecakes were nice, but not amazing, just standard. I recommend going here if you want a nice classy meal.

Quite disappointed with our experience thus time around. Service was slow, food was average at best, certainly not worth the exorbitant prices. We will not return :(
