Great time dining at Ruth Chris in Walnut Creek Our server Tina was excellent & the music was great too. The food as always delicious
We normally love dining here, but this evening our food order had several errors. The server mixed up our steaks so one person ended up with a steak much more well done than preferred and the other way too rare. Our son received fries and pulled out a long black hair from them. Disgusting. Our server kept interrupting and upselling when we clearly were not mirroring his energy and excitement. We just wanted a quiet meal with good food. We left feeling quite cheated of what was supposed to be a nice night out.
Beautiful renovations since we had been here last, which was before Covid. Hostess was very accommodating since we ended up arriving a bit early and also sat us in our preferred area of the restaurant, which I forgot to request when making the reservation. Our chopped salad was a disappointment. It lacked flavor and was missing several of the ingredients that they listed. The steaks came out hot and cooked to perfection. Creamed spinach was good. However the I thought the lobster mac & cheese was a bot watery but lobster was firm. Service was very good except for the fact that the kitchen sent out dinner too quickly were we didn't get to relax with our salad & drinks. The waitress tried to kinda to late to intercept as they were at our table & she held them off, which explains why sides were not at hot as the steaks. Our main server & wait staff did a great job being attentive with more water & bread. Plus server was spot in with her recommendation of wines by the glass & offering a tastes. So overall we enjoyed being back, however with the price of steaks will need to look for the prefix specials! Oh a heads up.... the parking garage was so full on an early Saturday 5:30 pm that you may need to give a few extra minutes looking for someone to leave to get a spot!
Decided to have dinner here since it was close to the Lesher Art Center and we have had great dinners at the San Francisco location before it closed. 1st of all the cocktails were disappointing. The sidecars we received were not the sidecars we were accustomed to. They served what they called a blackberry sidecar. When asked for a conventional sidecar, we were told they don't make those. We told our server, everyone makes those. The entrees were another disappointment. We asked for prime rib (not on the menu) but what was served was Prime Strip. When brought to the attention of our server, we were told, that is our prime rib. Again, like the sidecars, no real explanation of what we were being served vs what we ordered. We allowed two hours so we could make our concert show. Service was very slow, and we were at least 15 minutes late even though the venue was very close by. I thought it was strange the place was close to empty on a Saturday night, but hey, it was 5pm. Locals may be avoiding this once great restaurant. Too many things went wrong to warrant a return visit. 10/25/25 , Table 205, RC #7330, Server Alvaro. Someone already contacted me from the restaurant's customer service, but I was unable to find the message to reply.
Excellent steak, fillet mignon, creamed spinach, butternut squash and augratin potatoes. All in all a wonderful meal and good service in a lovely setting.
My steak was burnt . Stuffed Chicken was still pink. The food took along time to come out all to be disappointed however I did still leave a tip because our server was super sweet and apologetic,It wasn't her fault the food/experience was terrible.
Food is very inconsistent we got 2 orders of calamari 1 was Luke warm the other was hot. Steaks were the same deal my steak cooked perfectly my daughter was supposed to be medium it was well done my sons supposed to be medium it was medium well
Was seated promptly. Host and waited was attentive. Meal was timely and served HOT. Overall, a good experience. We have visited here before and will continue have meals here.
We've dined at this location many times...this time a 7:15 reservation for 7 adult family members to celebrate our son's 18th birthday... we arrived at 7:10...waited 10 mins for a table (not an issue other than there is absolutely nowhere to wait other than stand in the middle of their hallway). After being seated, it didn't take long for us to be greeted. Our order of 3 drinks took 20+ mins. We only saw our server when she delivered food...which wasn't often. Soups / salads didn't take long but the bread in the French onion soup required a fork and knife to get through and this is after it soaked in soup. It was not edible because it was so tough. Then we waited at least an hour for our entrees to arrive...and when they did 3 of the steaks were way over cooked (well done) including the birthday boys. The 3 servings of Brussel sprouts were the worst we ever had...barely cooked, soaked in oil and zero flavor or seasoning. We asked if that was how they were supposed to be and our server said she would check but never came back w an answer or offered any alternative. When the steaks were found to be jerky, she did have them recooked but advised it would be 20 mins and that she would send the manager right over. No manager...no one around, until she returned w 2 recooked steaks after a long wait. My daughter didn't send her overcooked steak back because the first part was cooked medium but the 2nd half was cooked well done. When she delivered the 2 new steaks again we were told the manager would be by but we never saw one. Then came time for dessert. At this point we had been there 2.5 hours!!!! We were told it wouldn't take long but again....another 20 mins pass before we see anyone, thankfully they had our desserts, at this point the bd boy and all of us were pretty over it and just wanted to get home on a Sunday night...we finally got our bill (2 dinners comped) and left after 3 HOURS to start our 45min drive home. Our server was nice but absent. Manager and help MIA!!
We all had a very pleasant and memorable experience. Our server, Joe, went above and beyond to ensure the birthday experience for our brother and sister was amazing. Everything was on point.

FOOD
The food was top notch and loved it. It was perfectly cooked and well seasoned I have not been to a better steak house yet. I have had the Filet and the T-Bone steak and I would say both are amazing
SERVICE
The service is very average for a restaurant and not over the top. I will say there staff is very nice and I would give a 5 star if this was not am up scale steak house.
ATMOSPHERE
The atmosphere used to be good until they started letting people who would massive under dress come in. When I come here I would expect at least business casual attire. It doesn't need to be overly dressed up for the guests but it just hurts to see people in casual or near no clothing come in when the environment feels more up end.
Conclusion
Its an amazing place to go at least 1 time a year if you can afford it because it's a little pricey but it is overall an amazing experience and the only downgrade on my review is because it's an upscale place that doesn't always keep it's upscale atmosphere some times.

This was one of the worst experiences I had ever had with a restaurant ever. The waitress didn't even come and check in us nor let us know what was going on. The manager came and told us it was backed up and that's it like we haven't been waiting her for a 1 1/2 , people before us had gotten their food before us, I will never come back her again. I will continue to go to flammings

Food was very good really liked the ceaser salad and the spicy shrimp appetizer. I think it would be better if the sauce on the calamari was served on the side. I don't recommend the potatoes a gratin. The potatoes are in chunks instead of slices. It could be better. Steak were great. A member of the party had the chicken. She is a picky eater and said it was great. Chocolate cake was very good. The cheesecake needs to go. Not an item worthy of RC.
