I treated my granddaughter to dinner. I took her to Sasa a few years ago for her birthday and she's been in love ever since. We love sushi. We like to order different things and share them. We ordered the Sasa and the Dragon rolls. Both were perfectly delicious! We arrived early enough we got in on the Happy Hour specials, so added some brussels sprouts. Yummy! Add a couple of glasses of wine and we were very happy. We sat inside for a change. It was raining and cold outside. Although the patio is covered and heated; inside wasn't crowded, so we sat inside. It wasn't very noisy so it worked out. Yes the prices have creeped up, understandably. However, the staff was attentive, we got our food promptly and everything was just right so it made it worth it.
The food was incredibly delicious, & the service was very attentive & helpful.

Waited 35 minutes for our drink order to come to table. Server brought drinks but with no apology for having to wait. Food was good. Place was noisy. Won't return.
The food, decor and service were fantastic. Definitely pricey but worth it for a special occasion!
Loved the service and ambience. Very nice outdoor area. The appetizers were very good but did not like the sushi rolls. If sushi is your priority then I would not recommend Sasa!
Food was very fresh and delicious! Always love the sushi, delicious eggplant appetizer and sitting at the bar!
We had a lovely Sunday afternoon date night at Sasa. For ambiance, the restaurant has an upscale, modern vibe with earthy elements. There's a pretty water feature next to the front entrance which you can hear in the side patio. We requested outdoor seating. There is a front patio that butts against the street, and a side patio that's much more secluded and quiet. I noted that all of the couples were seated in the side patio, and a family was seated in the front, which I think helps keep the mood romantic for the couples.
The food was mostly delicious, and had a high class vibe with fun flair. We tried the special soft shell crab bao buns and grilled octopus (with yummy romesco sauce). The soft shell crab was perfectly breaded and the buns were fresh. The scallop crudo and tuna tiradito were both very yummy, but we agreed the scallop needed a little more salt. We also got the sashimi sampler, which had high quality fish but was nothing special, and a spicy tuna hand roll. The spicy tuna came in chunks (not diced) with an intense garlic chili oil and bitter frisse. I think the balance was a bit off, and I would have preferred the traditional diced tuna to better distribute the spicy sauce.
Overall, service was excellent. We were seated promptly and asked if we liked our table. Our server, a tall young woman, was really sweet and attentive. The only negative was that the hostess was wearing very intense perfume, which kind of killed the food vibe whenever she walked by to seat someone else.
Sasa is a lovely spot with chefs and servers clearly putting in the work. It's a little pricey, but we'll be back again to see what new specials they're offering!

The garden area is a quieter spot in the restaurant and is nicely landscaped. The interior is attractively decorated with exceptionally nice lighting. We enjoyed our sushi rolls and the dessert sampler. There is an excellent selection of sake as well.
Great food & great service! We ordered the Sasa roll, Braised ribs, pork buns & Beef with stone cooking - sooo good! I also loved the ambiance as we chose this restaurant for date night. 😍

We had a very nice evening here. The quality of the fish & seafood was really good. I found the beef course I had a bit chewy but everything else was great. Highly recommended.
Wow ❤️ best of the best
But pay attention to the cleanliness of the tables

This restaurant was much better when it was under previous owners. First, we made a reservation at a high top. When we arrived, they wanted to seat us in the back and said “we're saving this for folks with a reservation”. We said “you mean for people with a reservation like ours?” The sashimi wasn't very good and the yakatori was dry and lacked any flavor. When 4 people are charged $400 for a mediocre meal and have to fight for the type of table they reserved, it's not worth going to again. Sadly, this used to be one of our go to places; not anymore though.
This was once a stellar restaurant and experience and not sure what is happening? But definitely a difference in the taste which impacts the value equation. Sasa was once a craveable restaurant. As mentioned in other reviews this once had the best breading pudding, but like other dishes, covid, inflation, and change in back of the house have possibly negatively impacted a once great restaurant. Front of the house was also very confused with up to three people trying to seat us
Be careful not to book too close to the end of the night, they are strict about timing. Staff were polite albeit curt. Sushi was nothing to write home about.
