Great ambiance and perfect weather made the experience even better . Host was attentive and checked in on us several times , which my sister and I appreciated .
This private winery is nestled just below Mt. Diablo with beautiful views of the vineyards. We tried the wine flights (dark and light) and we loved them both. My personal favorite was the Malbec (dark) and the Rose (white). We arrived at 3pm for Saturday brunch and the vibe was amazing. We ordered the Halibut and the special of the day, duck. Halibut was a bit on the dry side but the duck was spot on. Overall, great vibes and energy from the staff. We'll be back again !
First time at Shadowbrook and the staff was exceptional.. We had a reservation at 6pm, we only wish we could have made it sooner in order to walk the grounds a bit before dinner.
I was there with friends to celebrate my birthday! It was a beautiful fall day, Kristen took great care of us and the winery vibe was beautiful. We are so lucky to have the special place so close to home.
Okay, so this place is amazing. It is a bit of an expensive evening all told, but it was truly worth it!! The setting is beautiful, peaceful, and comfortable. They have heaters, great outdoor lighting, and a lovely view of Mt. Diablo. Our server was super nice, personal, professional, and knowledgeable. We started with a wine tasting flight which was super. We loved all three of the glasses. We enjoyed the jalapeño cornbread. Crazy good. Then we had a beet salad as our starter. It was unique, beautiful, and delicious. For main course we got the halibut. It was cooked to perfection and delicious. We finished the evening with the chocolate mousse. Wow. Everything from start to finish was outstanding. It was more than a dinner out. It was an experience. Please go and don't hold back. You will love it!
We went for the wine tastings and atmosphere to celebrate, but the food was surprisingly fabulous. Terrific chef!
Great dinner and wine on our recent visit. The Brussel sprouts were amazing and the chicken parm and halibut were excellent! A couple glasses of Jon Rae wine were the perfect complement. Another outstanding visit to Shadowbrook!
I thought the ambience good and wine were great. Wasn't happy with the service we received. It was my first time going, taking a friend out for a birthday dinner. We ordered a bottle of bubbly and cheese plate. Both were overpriced, but I was prepared to pay for a nice meal to celebrate my friends. After those were delivered, we weren't checked on. Would have loved to know about the cheese I was eating, because it was delicious. We refilled our own drinks from the bottle. We had to ask for a food menu back, because we're planning to get dinner. Barely made last call for food, which we had no idea about since no one told us/checked in. We weren't able to order any more wine to go with our meal. Our server must have realized he ignored us, because brought us a splash of wine that “he would have had to throw out anyway”. A nice gesture, but a little late. When we checked out I realized 20% tip is automatically included. It made me feel like service quality doesn't matter because you have to tip anyway. Wish it would have been better. I did enjoy the food, wine, and scenery and was willing to pay, but felt like the lack of attentiveness made it overpriced and not a place I feel I need to revisit. Hope this helps them work on more welcoming and informative service for guests, especially first timers.
We had a fabulous table overlooking the vineyard. Service was friendly and efficient. Food was excellent. Wines were delicious. Perfect evening - we'll be back!
We had a wonderful experience visiting the Shadowbrook Winery recently we did some wine tasting and ate some delicious food. We sat outside and had beautiful view of the winery and mountains. The service was great and everyone was very welcoming and helpful.

My first visit here and I definitely will be returning. The ambience, food and wine was perfect!
This is NOT a place to go for dinner. They have an arrangement with the neighborhood to shut down early. We hada 6:30 Reservation (and per website hada 2.5 hour window for the table) but at 8PM, they were trying to kick us out. The open table interface does not explain this and the website for the winery (restaurant) is more about the winery than the restaurant. This may be a great place for LUNCH, having food with the wine. BUT, NOT DINNER. The food menu is very limited. The first course appetizers were excellent. The main course items were not up to par. The service was not the greatest and the "tip/fee" is 20% and is automatically added to the bill. For lunch, they have adequate food and some of it is inspired. The brussel sprouts were FANTASTIC, and the garlic fries were EXCELLENT. They have cheese plates that would work with wine tasting. The wine was good, but not great. They prices for the wine with the meal were not a value, excensive.
Friendly , knowledgeable and attentive staff. It is definitely a special place for wine and dinner just in our neighborhood!!
I visited this winery to celebrate my birthday, and it was such a wonderful experience! The food was delicious, the service was attentive and friendly, and the ambiance was perfect for the occasion. They even had live music just the right volume to enjoy without being overwhelming. Both the wine and the food were reasonably priced, which made the evening even better. Overall, it was a relaxing, memorable birthday celebration, and I would absolutely recommend this winery to anyone looking for a great spot to enjoy good food, wine, and atmosphere.
The chef is so creative and each meal is a complete sensory adventure- in the most pleasing way. He transforms fresh ingredients into culinary symphonies. And then pairs each dish with the best wine in the Bay Area. I am so grateful I live so close. The service is impeccable as well.
