Waiter was amazing and kind but way too stretched thin. He was unable to provide proper details on the wine pairings because he had too many tables. Waited roughly 20 minutes between each pour. Pistachio ice cream is amazing. Steak is not cooked well or seasoned well. It tasted better with ketchup and it was supposed to be a premium wagu beef. waited for over an hour for my truffle pasta because the owners care more about their money than providing proper staff to the kitchen. We ordered food roughly at 4:45 pm and didn’t actually get the last entree until roughly 7:15 pm. One person in the kitchen by himself is not acceptable. Manager was not apologetic and didn’t do anything besides send a glass of bubbles to the table. No comped food or anything else. Great ambiance and cute, but not a luxury experience.

Great tasting and atmosphere was immaculate. Their Voignier is out of this world! Chocolate mousse was also 10/10.

Nice wine, wonderful charcuterie board, and very local to visit

A surprise jem in Walnut Creek.
We enjoyed the wine flights and we're not disappointed. Their wines are first rate.
The menu appeared limited in the number of choices. We ended up ordering 1 of each of there main courses and we not disappointed with the quality and portions.
Great night in a beautiful setting.
Very good service too.

The place and winery was breathtaking! My friend and I couldn't believe we were in Walnut Creek. We definitely felt like we were in Napa! I definitely will be returning. Staff was attentive and wonderful. 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Beautiful property for sure.
Wine and food (duck croquettes) were mediocre at best and definitely overpriced. My order for the croquettes took way to long to be cooked. We had one of the first reservations after they opened with only a handful of other people also visiting during that time, so it's not like they were swamped. I do think the attendant rushed the kitchen when he saw I was upset after telling me it would take another 10-15 minutes, so that I do appreciate, because he was back with my food in about 5 minutes.
The attendant was nice and attentive overall, but barely explained the wines for each pour. My friend and I were saying how we are used to hearing more about the history of the property and wines, but we didn't get that on our visit.
We did the Northgate tasting & one of the issues we found is that all of the wines lacked body. I let the attendant know upfront I am not a fan of Chardonnay in general, so I'm not taking that one into account for this review. Only the last four.
I thought about asking for a different tasting about halfway through because I wasn't enjoying any of the wines but decided to stick to what we originally reserved and I didn't complain directly to the staff. Although some may have overheard us talking about how we disliked the selections throughout the tasting.
While this location wasn't up to par with my experiences elsewhere, others clearly like Shadowbrook based on the ratings here, so definitely give it shot for yourself.

The appetizer plates they brought to us were dirty. I requested clean ones they were a bit uppity about it and never brought any clean ones. The property is beautiful however everything is over priced extremely. They’re very stingy about letting you taste anything and the wine is average at best

Great winery experience and I loved the live artist playing music. Very hip winery and tasting was good too. Enjoyed my day out with my friends and would definitely return. Wagu was tasty and I wish fries were on the menu. Will be returning! Ty for a lovely time. Our waiter was very kind.

This is a must. You should take your girlfriends and visit this winery. Tim, the owner, is very helpful, and my wine glass was always full. We only had the cheese charcuterie and we did some wine tasting. I loved the Merlot.

The views and venue are superb. The service is attentive. The staff are well informed about the wines and olive oils. A great place to have some tapas with your wine tasting. The menu changes the first of the month. The fried calamari is fresh and delicious.

Location for east bay is ideal for a date night vs going out to Napa. Try to go around the full moon for views. It doesn’t feel like you’re in Walnut Creek! Quality of food was great, wine was enjoyable and service was good.

We made a reservation and arrived on time. Patio was very empty. Our party of two was escorted to seating at the edge of a fireplace, not a table. The two of us we were forced to sit directly next to each other with our chairs facing straight because the spot we were sat at was exactly two chairs wide. We could only look at each other while talking if we turned sideways and then we were literally face-to-face. The edge of the fireplace was lower than normal table height, so in order to eat we would have been hunched over, with our knees a pressed against the stone. There were so many open tables. I mentioned it to the host and she ignored our request. Then we mentioned to our server that the seating situation didn't work for us and she told us “it gets really busy” and “other people eat there fine.” We the watched another party of two get sat at a regular table right next to us. Very frustrated. She told us the only table she could offers is was a highboy table with metal chairs that had arms, despite there being lots of open tables. Eventually the host came over and moved us to a regular table like we originally asked. We were there drinking and eating for a couple hours and at no time did the patio ever fill up. There were more open tables than used tables at all times and it was not busy. For a restaurant that services patrons by reservation only, it seemed really odd that our reservation didn't allow for us to have a table. If they had not moved us I would have considered leaving and would definitely not come back again. The initial customer service was lacking. I would probably go back again at some point, but I am concerned that this situation might occur again. It was not fun having to choose between being uncomfortable all of lunch, or to have to complain (more than once) to get what would be considered a normal seating situation for a lunch reservation.

The experience at Shadowbrook is always incredible. Whenever I visit, I feel like I'm far away in wine country, but it's only a 10-15 minute drive from my house. We are so lucky to have this beautiful winery, incredible food and gorgeous space in our backyard.

Great experience. Excellent recommendations. Delicious food. Appreciated the information provided as part of the tasting. Their food menu was small but every option looked delicious.
Would recommend and would definitely return!

Such a beautiful local winery with great views. The wine is divine and the food is perfect. We had bubbles and caviar on a beautiful 78 degree day in the shade... couldn't ask for anything better The head chef creates interesting and delicious meals . The staff from the servers to hosts are so great and attentive. Will be back soon to check out the live music!
