Food: Chicken Benedict w/ Potatoes, Ube Pancakes.
++ Chicken and Potatoes: Well cooked and seasoned.
-- Hollandaise Sauce: To small of a serving; more like two small scoops of melted cheese sauce; w/ dry English muffin on bottom.
-- Eggs: Over cooked; Hard on inside, zero runny.
++- Pancakes: Delicious + came with side of Ube syrup. Only wish I could have gotten just one as a side. Had to buy full stack to try them.

Additional Note: Service Needs Polishing.
--+ Three Servers: 1 condescending, 2 shy/quiet. All failed to ask me if I'd like something to drink to start off with, and entire meal. Randomly got ice water without asking. (Kind of a Seinfeld Soup Naz* Episode vibe.)

Overall: Just another random place I tried commuting between work/home. Not sure if I'm motivated to make my way back; maybe... those pancakes made the trip!

Mismatched tables and chairs and horrible service do not recommend at all. You will be left with no refills on coffee or checking how the food is. I do not recommend at all. Prices are high and quality is low. The ube latte also has no coffee though it is a latte it is all just sugar without anything good and a bunch of undissolved powder.

Tried 3 of the menu garlic noodles, ube pancakes and loco moco all delicious.

Someone introduce me to this place, and after trying this place today, I can I also recommend it. So far the best garlic noodles I've ever had is from here.

The Uber pancakes was amazing and really fluffy 😍 😋. The loco moco has curry craving which is different than what I used to but still tasty for sure.

So why 4 stars? I arrived there early that the rest of the party becuae I was hungry, so I started my order with hot mocha. My parties have all arrived and ordered food, to my surprised they gave all the drink already and they forgot mine. Not a big deal since food here is good

Yes, like I said is till recommend the place and will come back for sure with more family and friends.

I went to The Hangout in Walnut Creek with my girlfriend and our 2-year-old toddler for breakfast on Tuesday November 18 around 12:00pm. We were excited to try the spot, especially because of the unique menu and their crazy purple pancake. The place looked nice and wasn’t very busy when we arrived, with plenty of open tables and an older crowd.

When we got there, a staff member quickly asked how many of us and seated us — I honestly thought they would give us menus and come back like at any usual restaurant. Not once did anyone return. We sat at our table for 15 minutes with no menu, no attention, and no one checking on us. Meanwhile, other guests were being seated and served around us. My toddler wasn’t throwing a fit, but he was starting to get a little annoyed because he was hungry, and we were just sitting there with nothing.

Eventually, my girlfriend suggested we just leave. As we got up to go, a girl said, “Thanks for coming, have a nice day.” That was the only other interaction we had with staff.

Honestly, it felt like we were ignored the entire time we were there except for being seated and when leaving. I really hope it wasn’t because we were the only table with a toddler, or the only Mexican family there — reading other low reviews, it seems other Black and African guests have had similar experiences, which made it feel even more frustrating.

The Walnut Creek location really let me down, but the spot looks great — I’m planning to try the Pleasant Hill location next time.
