Amazing vibes- food, great wine you aren't buying at the grocery store and the feeling that you have walked into something special. But honestly the best part of this place is Benjamin HANDS DOWN- one of the most down to earth, does anything to make your experience special, brings the best energy as soon as he meets your table. This is the place you will want to come week after week to see what new wines B might have in store. Highly recommend the members club or getting on the waitlist for it asap. Pop ins are amazing and member parties are the best thing in east bay. Hard to share such a gem but this place deserves to be known!

I have been in this establishment. A few times I have had John and Ben serve my girlfriend and I and never been disappointed. I will say that Ben does an amazing job checking on the customer making sure our wine is excellent and he just always makes us feel very special when we are having some meatballs and polenta with amazing wine. Wine and tapas bar has a great ambience in a wide variety of wine options.

Very cute, very intimate and our server was just so wonderful. There's a small sitting room with a couch or two up front and then bench seats along the wall for groups of two. My cousin smartly pointed out that we are the books in this library when sitting on these benches! We were there catching up and had the pork belly buns and mascarpone toast. The pork belly was good and juicy (bun bread was just ok) but the toast is sooooo good. I love this toast. I love the crunch of the almonds (and I never usually like nuts on top), I love the honey drizzle, I love the thickness of the toast compared to the mascarpone layer. The wine was also lovely, but I'm a little sad they don't have a flight that goes across wine types. They do flights like 3 chardonnays or 3 Sauvignon Blancs. Ended up ordering two glasses instead and it still was great, but I'm a sucker for a great tasting flight. Our server was lovely. Just so kind and personable. He seemed like the only waiter/wine person and then there were a couple people bringing food out from the kitchen, etc. So a small operation and lots of fun. I can't wait to come back!

It's Sunday around noon and this place was deserted. It looked dark from the outside so I wasn't even sure if it was open. Pushed on the door and to my surprise, it is in fact open. I was in town for a few hours and looking for a place to grab a light lunch and maybe a glass or two of wine, and this spot was highly regarded and seemed relatively new. I asked to take a look at the wine list and there were many BTG options and also some bottle options, in my opinion, the selection was pretty generic and not super interesting. The average BTG was around $15 and most of the wines I looked up wholesale for around $12-20/750ml. There were some okay options, but a lot more interesting wines were being offered by the bottle. I inquired about a couple of the options on the list and was told they really didn't have any of the wines being offered by the bottle at the moment due to restocking and haven't updated the menu yet. Okay, no worries, I stuck with a couple BTG wines they did have (some of these were out as well), and then inquired about food. Unfortunately, I was told they don't really do food on Sundays. The BTG wines were okay - relatively good representations of the varietals/regions, but certainly far from the best. So far, things were pretty disappointing. The employee working there was quite apologetic and it sounds like they have some kinks to out still - 100% to be expected for any new establishment. Having updated lists is fairly important because after one or two options not being available, most consumers are going to be pretty frustrated. In addition, having been to wine bars all over the US, I've rarely encountered a situation where half the menu is 86'd so I do feel the owners can do a better job of inventory and keeping the lists updated. Other wine bars have figured this out so I know it must be possible :) All that being said, I liked the decor and it does seem like it would be a fun place to hang out. I liked the service as well. I'll stop in again in a couple months to see how things are going and hope they've got a lot of the kinks worked out.

I had such a good time here! The food was delicious and the wine was perfection. Such a nice vibe and ambiance, even the music was great. I had the meatballs and polenta and the mascarpone toast, and I was not disappointed. Guests sitting next to me actually told me to order these plates, and they were right. The highlight was the host Ben, who had the best suggestions and impeccable and attentive service. He made it feel like I was hanging out at a friend’s place, which is the best feeling ever. When you go, ask for Ben! Can’t wait to visit again, thanks Ben!

I'm pretty sure this is our new go to spot. The entire team, including owner JB, were so attentive, friendly, and clearly enjoying serving their customers. The atmosphere is great and accentuated by the amazing service and positive energy of the team. The wines are well selected, unique, and served by the glass, flight, or bottle. I appreciated that there was not the shrinkflation you see at so many places, the pours were generous and we were able to taste everything before committing. We ordered several appetizers, all of which were excellent and enough to serve as our dinner. They even poured a few tastes for us of some wines they had recently found and were excited about. Overall a great experience all around, we can't wait to go back.

Wife loves the cozy atmosphere and the super-knowledgeable staff. I love the selections from wineries globally and not just Napa (and the food.) This is a new hidden gem in Walnut Creek.

As of 09/19/23: they're hiring! For a front end/food prep. One of the sister businesses to Hideout, the Library Social Club is one of the best in downtown WC from quality local vineyards. They partner with a lot of individual places as opposed to chain, and Eddy and JP are so helpful and welcoming. Their malbec and prosecco were delicious and both paired well with the compound butter and toast. We made a reservation online but were also able to walk in. All gender restrooms, high quality wine glasses, wonderful options. This is a staple place to visit in DTWC

Wife and I were walking by and went in on a whim. Ended up staying longer than we expected trying all their suggestions. Wine was really represented globally and not just what you can get easily from near-by Napa.Rosé flight was great. Snacks were great. Food was great. I've told my 'wine friends' to check this place out before it's too hard to get a reservation soon.

New spot in Walnut Creek. Wasn't too hard for us to find street parking. Excellent selection, snacks available, friendly service, and good music. Overall pleasant and cozy vibe.
