Always have a great time at the hickory pit. We are always seated quickly, food is great and reasonably priced, and staff is super friendly. We love supporting this Walnut Creek fixture!

Both of us had breakfast. As one would probably expect, the very best part of the meal was the bacon. It was delicious. My wife had apricot pie and really enjoyed it also.Parking: Free parking lots in front and back plus paid street parking.

Awesome place for breakfast, lunch or brunch! I went there for the first time with my mother and she got the club sandwich and I ordered the Reuben. they were not skimpy on the corn beef hash. Everything was quickly made and brought to us fresh. I will be frequenting this place a lot more now. Sherri our waitress was attentive and kind.

Been coming here for many years, so many changes lately, not for the better!!A lot less items on the menu, that's OK but the prices have hit the ceiling. $7.00 for a large Orange juice, wowFood is served on a metal tray, like in a jail, not attractive at all. Some kind of a pickled condiment accompanies the meal, bring back the dill pickle half, we love it!!The new fabric on the booth seats doesn't allow a person to slide in or out, you have to work your way in, not good.It now has so many TV's, it feels like a sports bar, oh yeah, they have a full bar and so much, one whole page of the menu is Booze. This is NOT our old favorite BarBQue place anymore. So sad.

Just popped in for a couple pies. They were busy AF so it can't be all that bad.Didn't try it, but friends liked the Dutch Apple just fine...But they also said they liked the Key Lime which I found wasn't quite tart enough. Good texture tho.

This outlet resembles more the old school stores of the glorious past of Emil Villa's Hickory Pit in Oakland. The brown sauce is great here. They serve the ribs the traditional way with a grilled and buttered hamburger bun on the side...just another thing along with a mountain of fries to drench into that sauce. It's good too that all the ribs served are fully cut through, so you don't have to try to saw through them all with a little knife and the big flap ends with all the meat are still attached, YUM! I hate this "St. Louis" style ribs where the good meaty ends are all sawed off before, and all you get is the straight rib and meat that is just between the bones. This seems to be how most places serve ribs now. This is definitely on the must stop list for a trip to the Bay Area.Prices are up, but the full slab of traditional ribs are so worth it.
