Small, quite and friendly. Some of the best sushi we've had in the bay area. The fish tastes fresh and the place doesn't smell fishy, which is a sign of the quality of ingredients.

It’s almost unbelievable that a place with such high prices can deliver service this disgraceful. The food was fantastic, but when paired with service this awful, even the best dishes become hard to enjoy.

The service staff with strong Vietnamese accent were rude, unhelpful, and inattentive. We waited forever to order, and even as the kitchen was about to close, they still haven’t taken our order. On top of that, we had to do everything ourselves—wipe our own table, move our own tables and chairs, get our own napkins. The short-haired, senior-looking server’s attitude was unfriendly the entire time, making the experience even worse.

my water had an unknown black object sunk at the bottom. I had already drunk more than half the glass before noticing. Absolutely revolting.

Then the soy sauce pot on the table was clearly not fresh. It wasn’t just a matter of needing a refill—it seemed to be a dirty pot left over from the previous customers, unwashed, with only two drops that I finally “poured out” we opened the lid and checked - empty inside.

How on earth did the servers expect us to enjoy our meal—dipping our delicious food into two pathetic droplets of leftover soy sauce from the previous customers, and drinking water with a disgusting black object sitting at the bottom of the glass?

Totally unacceptable for a restaurant charging these kinds of prices.

The food itself was truly delicious. The chef is clearly very skilled and experienced. But the entire dining experience was ruined by shockingly bad service.

One of my favorite sushi spots across California!! Really good quality sushi, fantastic rolls with great presentation. Service is always great. Honestly, some of the best you can get at a standard sushi place that’s not some high end spot (tbh better than many “high end” spots.)

My favorite Sushi spot in Walnut Creek!!! It’s amazing here. I get the premium omakase and hand rolls every time. (Usually spicy tuna or salmon). The fish is super fresh and my favorite nigiri is the otoro of course.

They have some rolls there that are pretty good as well. The pacific roll is one of the ones we always get. But you can’t go wrong with all the others. Just pick the one with fish you like and it will taste so good.

Also the staff is so friendly and attentive. It’s worth it every time we go :)

amazing food and terrific service we actually were there on Easter Sunday and we had one of the best sushi meals I've ever had in my life. the tempura sauce with the added additions to it we're just out of this world I've never had daikon and ginger in something like that. a huge selection of drinks and some of the best spicy salmon ive had in years

I ordered the Sushi Combination. The quality of the sushi is pretty good. The yellowtail and salmon are my favorite.

Toyosu has a great sushi bar experience as well as maybe the most diversified sushi menu in Walnut Creek. They had multiple fish that were not found in other sushi menus in the area. In addition, the presentation from the chef was top notch. Added bonus, the Santa Barbara Uni was fresh and available

As a sushi lover who knows good rolls, I was pleasantly surprised by this small, cozy spot offering fresh and flavorful sushi. We ordered the Lion King Roll (with cooked salmon), the Dragon Roll (with eel), miso soup, and hot tea, and everything was absolutely delicious. The rolls were well-prepared and bursting with flavor.

The atmosphere was decent, although slightly marred by a loud diner nearby, who seemed oblivious to the fact that she was sharing her entire personal life with the room. The tables are placed quite close to each other, so be prepared for a less private dining experience.

Overall, we spent about $30 per person, which is on the higher side, but the quality of the rolls made it well worth the price. I would definitely return for the excellent sushi!

It would be easy to overlook this place because it’s tucked into a busy shopping area, but Toyosu was unbelievably fresh and delicious, plus the service was attentive and excellent. Easily became our favorite sushi spot in the bay!
