Lou and June made our trip to California complete! We were driving through, hungry from a long morning of travel and took us in as if we were members of their own family! I can't even begin to tell you how amazing the food is! The Mexican Flag is a must eat dish and the tamales are some of the best we've ever eaten! If I lived in this area we would be here at least once a week!

My boyfriend and I were looking for food nearby after visiting the Cosumnes River Preserve. Fat Lou’s had great reviews and I am so glad we stopped by. I had the bacon cheeseburger with their homemade French fries. So so good - produce was fresh and the tomatoes on my burger were perfectly ripe. In the ten years I have lived in California, I have eaten at several dozen places that served Mexican or Mexican inspired food. This was the best I have had. The refried beans are made from scratch, not from a can. Same with the tamales.

I cannot decide which is the better sauce: the rojo or the verde.

The Charizo and eggs were shockingly good. The chorizo was not drowning in grease. Portions were appropriate.
