Such a beautiful place. Staff is amazingly welcoming —even to out of towners like us. Great wine, incredible views and an overall outstanding atmosphere
Great wine, great vibes this is a hidden gem
Came in with a big group for my birthday and the staff (especially Alyssa, Angela and Mike) made us feel extremely welcome. It doesn’t hurt that their wine is top notch. If you’re in the neighborhood, swing by. 5/5
Awesome hidden away gem of a place. The service is amazing!! The atmosphere is a welcoming hug, like you just walked into your best friends home. The wine is delicious with a wide range to suit anyone's preference. This is a must try place. The road there has beautiful scenery... added bonus.
I discovered this winery by luck, it was a short visit, but had SUPER fun hanging out & I ended up buying two bottles…
I opened one bottle when I got home & I’m regretting that I didn’t buy more…
I will definitely visit again, with extra time…
Hawk Watch Winery is a wonderful place, and their wine is the best, however it is a 97 degree day in early July, and there is some idiot here who has left his dog in a truck with the windows cracked 2 inches. I immediately said something when we arrived, and the owner just brushed me off, said it was his dog and the dog was fine. There is no possible way the dog could be fine. He said he would go start the a/c for the dog, but my boyfriend, who was outside, said the guy never came back to the truck. PLEASE people, don't bring your dogs here if you're going to torture them by leaving them in a hot car (or dark truck in this case). It is cruel to do that to the animal. If I had known that the guy DIDN'T go start his a/c for the dog, I would have called 911. He left that dog in the car for at least half an hour after we got here.
It is a small friendly winery with excellently crafted wine.
Mike is great! My wife and I are long-time members. Exceptional wine at an incredible value. I had the opportunity to meet Mike in person and chat with him for a while a couple of months ago. I shared my love for fortified wines, and he shared a barrel tasting of his upcoming Port (fantastic), and offered me one of his last bottles of Manzanilla (such a special gift). The grounds are also a wonderful place to take the family and have a picnic. We're glad to be a part of the Hawk Watch family, and we're looking forward to our "futures" with the winery :)
The weather was perfect. They had live music, and the views were great. The rosé was really good.
This is our favorite winery. Every bottle is incredible

Made a stop to this winery for the first time (on whim) after camping at cuyamaca lake. SO glad we stopped in!
While it was too hot for sitting outside we enjoyed the intimate barrel/tasting room perfectly air-conditioned. We didn't catch her name but our host was so personable and knowledgeable about the wines! She made our experience 11/10 ?. Personally I tried the majority white wines flight that ending with a rose and light red. "Sequoia" was great! (And I'm not a rose person). While my boyfriend had the prominent red flight starting light and going into more deep reds. His favorite was hypnotica.
Overall they're certainly off the beaten path but 100% worthy of a visit. Worth it wines and lovely people!
Cheers !
By far my favorite winery in San Diego County. This authentic wine maker focuses all their time and energy on making excellent wine. Where some other wine makers are wedding venues or tourist attractions first, Hawk Watch got it right in my opinion; great wine made with passion. Having said that, it's also beautifully located in the Warner Springs area, which means you can enjoy a glass of wine in tranquility surrounded by the vineyards and beautiful hillsides.
After a weekend in Temecula, tasting wines, Hawk Watch was the perfect last stop. Sommelier Alyssa and owner Mike were great to talk with and discover their outstanding wines. If I make it back to the valley, this will be my first stop.
The best place and people ?
A great selection from an out of the way winery. They have two or three whites, a rosé, and lots of reds. They even have two port style wines. Worth to drive out, the views are incredible, and the staff is very welcoming.
