It was a Wednesday and I wanted to buy grilled tuna belly for hubby but our usual spot for all things grilled Tony's BBQ is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays so I went to the one across from Tony's. Jeff's Barbecue and Bibingkinitan looked promising. Food pics of the menu are plastered on the outside. They have more choices than Tony's so I had high hopes. My to-go orders were grilled tuna belly with rice ($7.25) and lomi ($6.25). They accept credit card payments but for purchases less than $10, they tack on 20 cents to the total bill. The food was made fresh and the wait was a reasonable 20 minutes. Because this place is located in a plaza dominated by Filipino establishments, you can while the time away by checking out the nearby supermarket to get your food staples or bake shops to get some bread and pastries. The tuna was on the small-ish side and looked rather uninviting. Hubby didn't diss the dish but I observed that he didn't enjoy it that much because he didn't eat everything off the plate. It seems he prefers Tony's version of the grilled tuna, which is juicier and presented in a nicer manner. However, I did like the lomi and so did baby boy who ate it with gusto. I will be coming back to this place to try other items and to get the lomi again. Anything my babies like, I automatically bookmark in my head. Review 34 for the Yelp 100 Challenge 2018
