I have been dining here for many many years and I have never been disappointed.Yohan and staff are always prompt in taking your order and they are warm and friendly.The wait after the order is taken is very minimal and the food is always fresh and delicious.

LAST EDIT 2/8/24: SAD DAY FOR OUR FAMILY, AFTER NEARLY 23 YEARS OF REGULAR PATRONAGE, WE WON'T BE COMING HERE ANYMORE Unfortunately, during COVID they had to change suppliers for their imitation crab meat, which I totally understand, BUT this new supplier's crab meat tastes awful! It has a strong odd odor, a strange taste, and a rough texture. Compared to their PRE-COVID supplier which was a pleasant salty and creamy taste and soft finely chopped creamy texture. I know that it's only imitation crab meat. But that's exactly why it's so easy to mess up. After not having it for almost a year I tried it again today thinking that maybe I was just overreacting but, it was so bad that I couldn't even finish one piece of my California roll. And that's ONE of the things that we specifically come here for. I know, you might be thinking that it's not a big deal, it's just a California roll. But, when you come to enjoy a certain type of food at a certain restaurant you expect it to taste the same every time you go -- That's the whole point of finding your favorite restaurant, it's because you like the taste of what they're serving. But now that they've changed it I don't want to come anymore. And that really makes me sad because like I said we've been coming here for nearly 23 years. In the future I may call and check in with them and ask if they have returned to using their old supplier in the hopes that we can return to our special Sakura of Tokyo in West Covina.5 years ago: No complaints ever, ever, ever! Food is spot-on, service is spot-on, charming, funny, and makes you feel right at home and part of the family! ?10 years ago: This place can do no wrong in my eyes! Food, service, cleanliness, everything is an A++ ?15 years ago: Can't beat this place in service, taste, value, and cleanliness! Been coming here since 2001

I drove past this place for a decade and never went in. Mistake!My wife and I brought our 13 year old picky eater and he loved it! We got "The Boat for two" and a couple of appetizers and it was nice ?The Boat is basically a sampler platter with a little of everything except the sushi.Lots of funKid-friendliness: Kids love the teriyaki and atmosphere ?
A great place to eat with friends, family, a date , and food is always fresh and has great flavor ?, take out, or dine in , friendly staff. Just ignore the fishbowl ?

This is our go to establishment for some quick fix Japanese food with a very affordable pricing menu! Ambience: You can tell this restaurant has been here for the past few decades with many older Japanese decors & a lil bit dated inside but it is an extremely roomy restaurant for sure. Suiting always comfortable with options from booth seatings to just chairs only seatings. They also have a pretty large sized party room where schools sometime host holiday dinners at!Service: All the waitresses include one waiter are some of the nicest servers around, extremely accommodating & always gives you a very warm welcome as soon as you walk in. Parking:Parking is readily available usually. One down side is that with several businesses already closed for business, all sorts of people hangs around nearby at times would make you feel unsafe. Fortunately it's been okayed for us visiting this establishment about once every 2 wks. Food:It's not the best Japanese food but my family & I agreed that it's reasonably priced for pretty decent food. They offer a great variety of combo options. They are very well known for "their boat" of which comes out in an actually wooden boat piled up with your choice of combo food items. They also offer but one get one free drinks. If you are ever around the area, give this place a try & support a local business!
