I rarely leave negative reviews, but this place truly deserves it. We called ahead for a reservation, and they insisted on walk-ins. Upon arrival, we requested a table in the corner with brighter lighting for my sister's preference. They disregarded our request, claiming that section was closed. They tried to seat us at a table by the walkway, which we declined. It’s not that packed and busy day anyway. After a long drive, hunger turned to disappointment. We left due to the waiter's disrespectful attitude. I won't be returning to this restaurant. Poor customer service.

Ordered to go, wasn’t very good. (I ordered a deep fried California roll) they have buy one get one sushi rolls which is cool, but unfortunately it’s only for dine in and I was told you also have to order an appetizer in order to get the deal. The sushi roll was $13+ for just the 1 roll. I didn’t try any other items on the menu. The lady I spoke with was nice and the atmosphere inside was nice which is why I gave 3 stars. The eel sauce seemed really weird because it was like a big blob/ball inside of the sauce. Probably won’t return. The shushi place right next to lazy dogs in the West Covina mall (Mikomi sushi) was much better tastes amazing overall and only 1 mile away from here.

Really recommend this location!!!Original:Really like the atmosphere of this Kopan location!! All the waitresses were super super friendly here. They pay attention to your drink level and ask whether you needed refills and whether everything is alright. The presentations of all the food we've ordered was amazing! Sushi comes with the correct size and fish is fresh. Rolls comes in good portion sizes and have their own unique flavors to them.The only thing I wish they can improve is their wasabi, it feels a bit too grainly and powdery and not enough flavor to it.Would definetly recommend and come back here to dine again!!!

I’ve been here a few times, even before the remodel and change of name. The food is really good here, service is fairly slow, usually 1-2 servers and pricey. Small portions and it’s really pricey but food is good. I bought the large sashimi boat and I felt that it wasn’t really worth the price. Definitely will not get it again. Jalapeño bombs were decent but very very small. It’s basically 2 jalapeño cut into halves.I really enjoyed the Sapporo roll, volcano roll, and the zen was great. I’m not a fan of baked salmon roll and the super Philadelphia roll is mid, just small portions. Most of the premium rolls are $14.95-$18 each and are about 6-8 rolls but small rolls. Definitely not our go to spot but we will come sometimes if we going to the movies next door. Under the new ownership, this place is definitely much better than Damu. The new remodeled interior is amazing. Really pretty and unique.

The bento box hits the spot & is quite tasty. They used to offer a 3 item box, but now there's only a 2 item option. Boo! My coworkers and I have come here more than once for work lunch and will probably go back. They're able to sit 10 of us without issue. They would get the full 5 stars if they didn't remove the 3 item bento box. Bring it back!

The head chef here, I think his name was Edin, great chef, great work ethic and very welcoming. I’ve never seen a head chef bus tables and deliver food before in a a sushi joint. If anyone here deserves a raise it’s him.
