Gave this place two shots, and unfortunately both times were bad. The salmon and chicken teriyaki bento were not good. The tempura had no crunch at all, and the sauces for the teriyaki and tempura had no flavor. Second visit was worse because I got food poisoning from one of the rolls I ordered. Definitely not coming back here.

Mixed experience on this one. The 12 piece PREMIUM sushi combo with baked snow crab handroll was really good. Everything tasted fresh and flavor was on point. I can't remember every item that was included but snapper and kanpachi were my favorite. My wife's chirashi bowl wasn't too impressive for $49. It came with 12 pieces of sashimi but they were all pretty typical ones, nothing exotic or special. I know several other places with better chirashi bowl that charge less than this. I took a bite of one of the sashimi pieces and it tasted kind of weird. Chicken kara-age wasn't good. There was hardly any seasoning on the batter and it wasn't crispy. It came with sweet soy dipping sauce, which carried all the flavor. I also noticed the price isn't updated on its website. Price on the premium sushi combo and chirashi bowl were $10 higher than what's currently listed on its website.

Decided to try a new place as I’ve been on a hunt for a good local sushi place and wow…….taste, presentation and service get 5 stars from me. Everything we need tried impressed me so much that I can’t wait to go back. The owner is also a seasoned sushi chef and he is there making the sushi which makes a world of difference.Like I said, I found my favorite spot ?

After having dinner here, both my husband and I did not feel well. We both got 2 different sushi combos and salmon skin salad, and to be honest was disappointed with the food. It was just not good sushi. The salad was too salty, and the fish tasted bland. The price was high for what you get (our order came out to be around $100 for 2 people). But we were like well, at least we tried and now we know. I was not going to leave a review, and just not go back. HOWEVER, both my husband and I have been having stomach issues after eating here. Our toilet seat has been kept warm this whole evening if you know what I mean. And I am experiencing a weird metallic taste in my mouth. I never had this happen before so I looked up "metallic taste in mouth after sushi" and result: SCROMBROID FISH POISONING from improperly stored fish (not refrigerated properly cause bacterial breakdown of fish) UGH. Anyway, I'm at up 1am right now with much stomach discomfort, did not eat anything else since dinner; and UPSET by all this. I would not recommend this restaurant. I did not even care that the food wasn't that good, that could be hit or miss at some places. But I hate that this place may not be serving food safely!

Oh we just had such a good experience at this restaurant. Late dinner on a Saturday night, place was relatively quiet and low key, but the food was exceptional. From the comfort of miso soup to the delicate flavor of each nigiri. Even the complimentary edamame was so good! The service was excellent. Would definitely want to go back next time we're in town.

This place is sooo good!! Great food and amazing service!! I love coming here and have been here a few times now since Oct...ordering the same thing: The 12 pc premium sushi (these photos were taken at those 3 different times lol). This item is def my go-to. The fish is so fresh-- . Their crispy rice and agadashi tofu are pretty good too. (I still have to try other things but I get too full from the sushi :P) Our server, Jay, rocks the front of the house. It's usually just her manning the floor since it's a small restaurant. She is super welcoming, sweet, and funny. She's a rockstar and the reason why we keep coming back.. plus the food, of course ;) I'm so glad Sushi Mura replaced Ami Sushi! I didn't hear good things about Ami Sushi, so I never bothered trying it. And honestly, I didn't know this was a completely different sushi restaurant... I didn't even notice the NAME CHANGE on the building until my sister told me... so we had to try it! And we're super glad we did!!

The food was wonderful. Has a lot of unique fishes. I sat at sushi bar. The only awkwardness of it was Sushi chef didn't ask me what I would like to order. Rather, after I waited for 30 mins, I asked the waitress, and knew that the order needs to be order through her.

Hole in the wall sushi spot in West Covina that serves wonderfully fresh fish and feels authentically Japanese! I enjoyed dining here and would definitely come back! Parking in the plaza can be limited during busier hours but street parking should also be available. Lemon roll: really fresh and tasty, I enjoyed the salmon and tuna combo and also ate the thinner lemon slices on top. Mura roll: the yellowtail was delicious and made me wish I had ordered yellowtail nigiri instead. Ankimo Monkfish Liver: it was my first time trying ankimo and so fun to try! Pretty good but definitely very rich in flavor. Half dozen oysters: I loved this, the ponzu added a depth of flavor to the oysters and it was super appetizing despite me already being quite full!

My family loved this spot! Will want to come back for the elevated sushi quality. Food quality, presentation, service and ambience were 10/10. They served complimentary miso soup and edamame. We had the premium sashimi platter, premium sushi platter, shrimp tempura and veggie udon. The sashimi was 10/10 and very fresh, and came with kizami wasabi which complemented the fish so well. Sushi was so good- the tuna had caviar on top, and salmon had truffle shavings, and other sushi had yuzu on top. Shrimp tempura was definitely a highlight as well!

Love the fresh sushi at Sushi Mura. The atmosphere is very cozy and the soft jazz music makes it very relaxing. The staff always welcome you with a smile and the serves is great. We highly recommend Sushi Mura for a great dining experience, it's located between Walnut & West Covina on the corner of Nogales & Amar. My favorite is the Sashimi salad and the Nana Roll, and Rock & Roll are excellent choices.

The service at Sushi Mura was fantastic! I've never eaten sushi that tasted as fresh and natural as this. Additionally, the service here was out of this world and every time we finished a plate, it was taken off our table to make more room for ourselves. The music and scenery here was also something that kept me at peace. The staff and food is overall amazing and I would definitely come back again! Ps: The Natsu Roll from the Special Menu was the best cooked sushi I've ever had. Highly recommend!

I had the Shiro-Yi roll and it was so good. The service to go with it was just as good and very accommodating. I really appreciated their attentiveness when it came to choosing what to order.
