Read some reviews about it being closed when it's supposed to be opened, Here on a Sunday morning, and guess what, of course it's closed. Was going to try them out, but I guess not. Hate driving somewhere to try something new and this happens. Get it together Tamale st. You are closed Monday and Tuesday already, do your maintenance then. Think about your customers PLEASE!!

This is the second time that I have come to this place in the middle of the day during what are supposed to be their business hours, and this place is closed. This time, they even left the open sign out, causing me to further waste my time by getting out of my car and walking up to a locked door. At least the first time this happened to me, I could see closed sign from the street, so I didn't even pull in to the parking lot. I wish I could say something about the food, but unfortunately, they have been closed every time I come they are closed.

Seriously some of the best tamales you'll have.

Vegetarian options: Some tamales have no meat.

The food was great! Customer service was good and the presentation of the food was good as well. Nice clean atmosphere. it's a little small, but has out door seating. Lil pricy for tamales but, it's a business what do you expect.

I kept trying to remind myself to take a picture of the beautiful tamales (pre-me tearing into it) but I couldn't do it. I just kept eating them. They were so fresh and PACKED full of meat! We got the pork tamales and the beef tamales and the pork were our absolute favorite, but both were delicious. The beans and rice were also phenomenal. Absolutely recommend.

Parking: Easy parking in front of the shop.

This was the second time I've been there. The first time was 5 stars all the way. This time we called ahead to order because we had a 45 minute ride to get there. When we got there they were out of what we ordered but said they put fresh ones in and that it would take 20 minutes. Fine, we dealt with that. When we came back after 20 minutes they said it would be another 20 minutes as they weren't done yet. At that point we weren't happy but figured since we drove 45 minutes to get there, we'd wait. They were done after that but to have to wait 40 minutes for food we called in for was a little ridiculous. So my star rating here is an average of my 2 experiences. I would like to say though that the tamales were EXCELLENT both times so they have that going for them.

The tamales were great! Very soft so might not be for you if you like them dryer. The salsa Verde was also incredibly good. Price is a bit higher than you would like for a tamale, but the protein ones are filled with protein so the value is kind of there. The only downside is that because they are a bit of a small store, sometimes they will be out of stock of the other non-tamale items as they're too busy making enough tamales to meet their current demand.Would definitely go again.

DELICIOUS FLUFFY MASA! AMPLE FLAVORFUL FILLINGS. Took a chance and ordered two dozen for an office potluck holiday party, along with their green and red salsas, and they were a HUGE HIT. I was hoping to save a few to bring home but I'm just going to have to go back and get my own. Also, not on their website -- a chicken mole tamal! The ancestors are singing.

Vegetarian options: The chile and cheese tamales were ALMOST better than the chicken. ALMOST ;)

Parking: PLENTY of parking. That little Glendora Ave. shopping center is a hidden gem. Tis old school West Covina with ample parking spots.

Stumbled upon this gem of a place today. I tried the chicken tamale with peices of whole corn, yum and the cheese/jalepeno (my fav), both were great. My husband had the pork and the beef and he likd the beef best. Masa is very good with subtle taste. Salsa is good however, i would have liked a bit more spice. Overall, we enjoyed thebservice and the tamales and will be back!

These are the best tasting tamales. The masa is soft, moist. The filling is full. The tamales are big. You will not be disappointed. You must try them all. I've had the pork, chicken; excellent.
