1 and half hour , they have NOT taken our orders . NO water … FYI none of the staff noticed us that we have nothing on the table. The only way we got our order is we have to approach the cashier and ask do we have to order here? Very poor SERVICE. Dining staff needs a lot of TRAINING.

Terrible service, insensitive staff, waited for an hour 30 mins; where we had to go up to the staff ourself asking if we could order. zero drinks were given - not even water. Waiters walked past us with zero acknowledgement. Gerry’s grill is 10x better, save yourself the frustration.

Service rant:

You really have to be familiar with Filipinos in American hospitality to give a lot of buffering to the service quality.

Literally nobody in the restaurant at 8:30 pm on a Thursday night. Might be because of the location or maybe an indicator of neighborhood and things we weren't aware of. Even the local cafe 86 was already closed.

Only server on the floor was awkward, allowed us to mess with audio equipment and barely checked in on us to the point where we could've probably just walked out after our meal and he wouldn't bother getting off his chair because he was on a phone call the whole time.

Food review:

Portions for the price were passable but the flavor made up for it.

The fact that the food came out minutes behind each other was awkward but they all were well presented.

Bangus sisig was sizzling and piled high on top of the skin to give a good counter balance of crispy skin and flavor bombed meat. It didn't come with an egg but excusable since the flavor was good. Processed calamansi packet though was not. Give me a lime over a random packet please or at the very least have it in a container.

Bistek had a very acidic taste to it but while it was hot was tender and the contrasting color of the raw red onion was a good touch.

Chicken skewers for $20 seems egregious discussion when there are only 5 of them but again the sweet and salty flavor and very tender protein brought an arguable pass.

OVERALL COMMENTS

Being the only customers for the night and coming in hungry for Filipino food probably made the meal better than it's priced out to be. Over $80 for 3 dishes might not have been a big deal if the service was better but that wasn't the case this visit.

We'll be on the lookout for more Filipino food outside of Amar and Azusa but for a place that's open past 9pm on a weekday this is the price you pay for. Bad service but nostalgic food.

PSA don't expect a typical US dining experience and be vigilant about making sure your server knows you need refills on your sink water. If you expect slow/non-existent service but food that hits classic flavors this is the spot.

When we tried to reserve a table, their hours were quite off. We also had to go to the restaurant in person because when we called, the lady who picked up didn't care to make the reservation. She claimed that she'd send us the menu but never did and when she picked up the phone, she sounded like she just woke up at 2pm. At the time when we went in person, the place was hot. I don't think they keep their ac turned on throughout the day. They also didn't seem to have a menu for their boodle fight on-hand. They had to send it to us through text. It was very disappointing and confusing.

Wow. My wife and I have not been here for a while so we decided to eat here before we saw a movie.

We will not do that again. We were the only two in the place and actually thought it was closed when we first walked in. We ordered a total of three dishes with two Modelos and ended up with a bill over $100 before tip.

As foodies, we normally would not have worried about the cost, but the food was not as good as it used to be when we last visited. We ordered pancit at the same time we ordered the dishes but almost finished the other two dishes before we finally received it. It also had more veggies than proteins and noodles. We ordered the Bistek Tagalog (received very salty), Bangus Sisog (surprisingly not a lot of flavor) and the Noypitz Pancit.

SURPRISE NOTE: All of these dishes cost less on the menu on the website compared to what we were charged. SMH…

Food terrible. Music Ok. If you're going there for the band, make sure you eat before you get there! The service is terrible like everybody's been mentioning. I can't believe it's still open. The best part is when it was time to leave & we didn't leave a tip. Avoid Avoid Avoid!

Bad over priced food. Went for the sunday brunch buffet the food selection was small and was too salty. The lobster which was suppose to be the big draw came out slowly and was extremely chewy. Service was horrible and everything was self served. Just know at the end theres an 18% service charge for larger parties which make sense but they also want a tip at the end. The manager says the service 18% goes straight to the restaurant and not the server. Wouldn't go here again even if it was free

Went to give this place a chance to try out the food and see if it was a decent spot for a venue. First off there is no indication on if they are open, google says the place “may be open”. Second upon arrival we go in the place looks like it is set up for like a banquet or party, I assume it was for a band that was performing that night. Although we went in and there was no host, we had to ask other patrons on how the wait was and the food. They said the wait was a bit and the other patrons didn’t seem friendly or helpful. Also maybe only a handful of people were really there, not really a popular dinner spot. We gave it about 15 minutes, still no host, the photographer was able to take like photos of 2-3 people of band. First impression of this place, not great. And for a Filipino restaurant, supposedly welcoming, not much. Maybe if they get better staffing and maybe better ambiance I’ll give it a chance. But I won’t be back anytime soon.

I’m really sorry, but I don’t have any photos to share.

If you're thinking of going, here’s how truly disappointed I am:

A buffet should be free and easy, but instead, it felt like I was being watched the entire time. (It honestly made me feel like a thief, like I hadn’t paid and had no freedom at all.)
The lobster is severely limited—only half a lobster per round—and there are staff watching you as you take it.
The regular shrimp is so mushy mushy, it doesn't even taste like shrimp. It feels more like something else entirely.
The service was terrible, but I still gave a $10 tip. (I honestly tried to be polite!)
In summary, this is a buffet with no freedom, poor service, and customers treated like criminals. I’m honestly so disappointed.

I really wanted to like this place, but the service is pretty terrible. After ordering, we waited 45 minutes to only to be served 2 of our 5 dishes in an empty restaurant on Sunday. Also, they don't do buffet anymore, but their banner outside says they do. There was a male waiter there who gave us attitude when we asked the rest of our food to be boxed up. The pancit we did get tasted ok, lots of imitation crab meat and some baby shrimp, but nothing worth waiting that long for. The lumpia was okay, too. The interior needs work and some cleaning.

This bar and grill has no alcohol. They should change the name to grill.
