Excellent service and the stuff very helpful
I usually don’t like coming to the dentist office but everyone here is so nice and outgoing! They do an amazing job of cleaning the teeth and fixing any chipped tooth. My family and I trust Man Dental with any dental needs, I highly recommend!
I am writing to formally address my concerns regarding the handling of my child’s dental care at Man Dental West Covina and with Dr. Leo Man. The issues outlined below focus on the lack of communication, delays in treatment, and unauthorized actions that have significantly impacted my son’s health.
Key Concerns
1. Failure to Notify Us of the Medical Condition (March 2024):
In March 2024, during a routine dental cleaning, X-rays revealed that my son needed wisdom teeth extractions. However, we were not informed about this condition or provided with a treatment plan.
2. Unauthorized Insurance Pre-Approval Request:
Your office independently applied for insurance pre-approval for the procedure without our knowledge or consent. We were not consulted or given the opportunity to authorize this request.
3. Delays in Treatment (March to September 2024):
Between March and September 2024, no updates were provided regarding my son’s condition or the status of the insurance authorization. When we were finally informed in September, the pre-approval had expired, necessitating a reapplication. This delay in communication and action postponed necessary treatment for six months.
From March 2024,when your team initially discovered the dental condition, to December 27, 2024, It is worth noting that the referral form contains only minimal information.when I finally received this referral via a message on my phone, there has been a significant delay.
I am unsure whether this qualifies as a legitimate referral document, and I will forward this form to the California Dental Board for evaluation.
I trust that the California Dental Board will provide fair and impartial guidance regarding this matter.
4. Unexpected Costs (December 2024):
After the insurance reapproval, we scheduled an appointment for December 19, 2024. We were not informed of any out-of-pocket costs in advance. Upon arrival, we were unexpectedly asked to pay additional fees, resulting in the appointment being rescheduled again.
Impact on My Son’s Health
The prolonged delays in treatment and communication failures have likely exacerbated my son’s dental condition. The lack of timely care has resulted in potential complications that could have been avoided with appropriate and prompt action.
Manager’s Response
When I contacted your office to address these concerns, you, as the manager, stated that you were unaware of the medical details because you are not a licensed dentist. This raises significant questions about how a licensed dental professional oversees and manages the team to ensure patient care is handled responsibly and efficiently.
Violation of Patient Rights
The delay in treatment, failure to communicate, and unauthorized insurance action are clear violations of the patient’s right to be fully informed about their medical condition and treatment options. These rights are protected under California law and professional dental standards.
Request for Resolution
This matter has been submitted to the relevant authorities for review, and I await their impartial judgment. I hope this letter serves as an opportunity for your practice to review its protocols, improve communication, and ensure such issues do not recur with other patients.
They will scam your insurance! ! ! I have been away from their clinic for a long time, but recently I received a message from them trying to file a claim with my insurance company.
I tried to contact them and asked them not to use my insurance like this anymore. They said they would send someone who specializes in insurance to call me back, but after waiting for 4 days, they still didn't call me.
Got my cleaning done friendly staff would definitely recommend it!

Definitely recommend this Dentist for everyone. John at the front desk was very nice and helpful and the dental assistant Debra was very kind and helpful.
