The New York Steak, Dabney Coleman was one of the best steaks I have ever had!!! Fresh salads as well. Very cozy atmosphere where many celebrities are cited. I am not even close to a celebrity… but felt I was treated like one by the fantastic staff. I would definitely recommend trying this place !!!

Will always be one of my favorites because my Dad used to take me there since I was young and my favorite time was when we sat in my the booth next to Al Pacino. I was star struck but my Dad wouldn’t let me ask for autographs especially when someone was eating and I agree. Chicken parm was my fave. We also saw James Woods! Lots of great memories

Brutal experience. Made a reservation for Thursday months ago. They called me last week to say that they accepted a buy out and could no longer accommodate my reso. Ok, no problem, we booked for Friday. Arrived for reservation at 8:30. Witnessing many people tipping the maître D to get tables ahead of us. Waited until 9:15 to get seated. Waiter only by one time to refill drinks or engage with us. Couldn't be bothered. Food finally arrived at 10:30pm. Nothing to write home about. Quite honestly it was greasy and unimpressive. Atmosphere was also not great due to party of screeching ladies beside us. It's a very small space so sounds really carry. No appreciation for changing our reso, or waiting 45 mins for our table. Go somewhere else, it's just not worth it.

Had a reservation last night that I made two weeks ago to celebrate a friends birthday. AfterWaiting 20Minutes, they sat outside in the rain and we were getting wet and it was freezing. There were two empty tables inside. They were incredibly rude and if you’re not a regular here, they treat you horribly. Do NOT recommend if you’re not a regular.

We tried this place after reading about it plus our enjoyment of Italian food and Old Hollywood. Everything was wonderful. We did see James Woods dining as well, as this place is famous for being a spot for celebrities.

Badass old school feel, Nick The Bartender is Fire, on point, taking 10 orders at a time, and everything is Spot On........ if one thing other than the food, that would bring be back, is Nick..... This Guy is Legit old school, No frills, no favorites, knocking drinks & orders out like no tomorrow........ Very Cool Spot, I was here from Huntington Beach, and I definitely liked the feel & Service............

I have a lot of respect for this place so I’m going to provide a lot of context for my review. First of all, the atmosphere and service are great. The waiters wear tuxedos, they’re very attentive, the whole vibe is very classic. They manage to keep this place a time capsule, and I love that, especially in a town like LA that is quick to replace old with new, and good with bad. The quality of the food, however, does not match the price. I got a spaghetti carbonara for $34. It came out with undercooked bacon on it. Not the traditional pork cheek (guanciale if you want to get all Stanley Tucci about it). If you’re gonna use bacon, fine! But at least get that thick cut stuff and make sure it’s cooked through. Thin, tasteless bacon on carbonara would have been acceptable for $20. Not $34. Also, the drinks. Got a Negroni. Made from a pre batched mix. $22. These are like Dodger Stadium prices but I don’t even have the good fortune of watching Kershaw blow the game in the 7th. I realize this place is in Beverly Hills and they must be holding onto that lease for dear life while real estate moguls hover around them like vultures waiting to replace this institution with an Erewhon, so believe me, I want places like this to survive. Which is why my review is going to be brutally honest but fair. My message to Dan Tana’s is to improve. If you’re going to charge this much for the food, at least put in some more effort. I’m a one and done customer because ultimately the food is all that matters. If they could justify the steep prices with the cuisine, like Musso and Frank, I’d be back. Again, service was great. Our waiter comped us a free appetizer because of some innocent mix up, so that was generous. But if you want the old school, red checkered table cloth, Americanized Italian food, there are other places in LA that do it better and cheaper. Try Palermo in Los Feliz. Although… their waiters don’t wear tuxedoes. Maybe it’s the dry cleaning bill that makes a Negroni $22. Who knows.

Made reservations a month in advance for an indoor table. When we arrived the host informed us that only outdoor was available. When I asked if we could wait for an indoor table, since I had a reservation for an indoor table, she said “it’s a nightmare here”, and took us outside to a table next to a bussing station, with three heat lamps blasting above us. When I asked the waiter if we could switch tables, he told me I’d have to speak with host. Zero effort was made to accommodate our request to honor our reservation for an indoor table, so we got up and left.I grew up eating here with my family, and was looking forward to going back here for a special evening. Was very disappointed. Very bad customer service.
