Great spot! Highly recommend. I feel compelled to write a review since they deserve it. Last night was my third time there and I will be back. I recommend you get in before it gets on the next LA Times list and you can’t easily make a reservation anymore. Sean Brock and team are incredibly talented. Excellent service each of the three times I’ve been. Love the pork chop. The deviled egg with ahi will make a normal deviled egg feel like a distant memory. Don’t sleep on the succotash side. Hmm what else? They do amazing things with their greens and veg - I love how they highlight the local farms they use. Awesome music - love the record bar in the front. This place deserves recognition for the awesome food they are serving. If you are looking for a nice and special meal to celebrate something, want to meet up with friends, or just want a cool vibe - I’d give this spot a try.

First of all, I'm a WeHo resident and had NO idea this place existed between the hardware store and the gym. What an incredible surprise. The transformation of ambience as you walk is set by the tone of the DJ playing the set that evening. Our luck was an amazing female, didn't catch her name, but gave up moody 60's jazzy Quintin Tarantino movie vibes. Our server, Noah, was himself a vibe and one of the most knowledgeable servers I have ever experienced. He charisma and personality was informative, educational, entertaining, chill and go with the flow. Drinks were interesting and delicious. Food came out quickly. We had the deviled eggs, shaved ham (wow!), oysters (wow again), shared the aged burger, but drooled over the pork chop perfection. I loved it in there. Great date place at the bar chilling to the music or having a great dinner with friends or like I was there for business.

We had a great meal here - service was a little slow but improved throughout the evening. The deviled eggs with spicy tuna and burger were absolutely phenomenal! We have dreamed about them multiple times since and can’t wait to go back!!!

Vibes: it was literally so cold inside that everyone in the entire restaurant had to wear their coat during dinner. I'm not kidding when I say the woman at the table next to me wore her fur while eating a burger. I know it was an unseasonably cold day but my teeth were chattering. These are details that people don't forget and no one can enjoy your spectacular music and amazing new menu if they are freezing.

I was very excited to come because Soulmate was one of my favorite (still dreaming about that Asian eggplant dish). Reservation was easy and we got a table right away. Service was good however she could have called a manager or maybe handled it better even though she tried, instead of letting me stay hungry. Atmosphere is nice but the dj played tempo background music which could have been done without him… I loved the menu but we came during dine LA week and it was limited. Not accommodating if you have food restrictions. Looking back I could have ordered from the regular menu but for some reason the waitress didn’t offer me that. Service was good however when I had an issue she didn’t offer to re-make my food (the short rib had dairy in the grits) she just took the meat I put a side and forget to bring it to my husband to go- only when I asked to waive that dish. Cocktails were very basic with just one flavor even though it was infused with 10 ingredients- which you couldn’t see any because the drinks came in a simple cup, simpler than the ones I have at home. Over all I see the vision, which is southern inspired Californian, but it was trying too much and it wasn’t anything special. My husband said the Ham wasn’t cut fresh and tasted like it sat in the fridge for hours. My beet salad was lacking salt and even a dash of honey or balsamic. The dill was overpowering, but again I do see the vision. Like I mentioned the short rib had dairy in the dish so I couldn’t eat the meat and my server did not offer to bring it to me without it or maybe on the side. I did mentioned my food restrictions at the beginning but she didn’t ask to clarify, she was semi knowable about the ingredients of the dishes . She did try her best to accommodate and gave good service. But she didn’t fix my issue and didn’t escalate it to her manager, why? The whole point of me there is to eat real food (I was starving), not an extra free desert- was very nice of her to offer.
I just didn’t eat all day for this special night for us, so I was hangry. All she had to do was offer me the regular menu or even better just remake my dish. The menu didn’t mention cheese in the grits unfortunately. Our server ignored us when it was time for a check, I guess she was hoping my husband was the one paying because he was the only one who ate anything. But she did try and she was lovely- just didn’t think outside the box… I was a server for 8 years in 3 countries in big restaurants. Private events and chefs, and a bartender. So unfortunately for this place I have a high standard. This was somewhat average and not on the level I expected. 3/10 so for me personally not worth the hype or the price at all.

Not worth the hype. Servers greeted us appropriately without being over bearing, they suggested things we enjoyed, however nothing tasted that good to justify the prices. Bland food and mediocre drinks. Shocking for a new chef restaurant.

Ok , after making the drive from San Diego to specifically dine at Sean Brocks latest concept I was pleasantly impressed and plan on returning. I dined with a party of 3 seated right outside of the kitchen, as a former cook myself having previously worked at a.kitchen Philly, The Lions Share San Diego and many other establishments i was pleased to be able to peak in to the kitchen and feel the heart of the house beat away. Service was excellent I cant remember our servers name but her knowledge of the program was polished and her ability to articulate the plates was superb. We had the deviled eggs, burger and fries, a duck special, pork chop , oysters, and a salad. Best pork chop I can remember eating, the duck was perfectly cooked and the beans accompanying the duck were an experience in themselves all other items we’re delicious. I couldn’t find an error even if i tried, maybe some of you can I cant. In regards to the HiFi element as an owner of a complete McIntosh stereo system I was eager to listen but for the sqft of the space it is hard to facilitate a cohesive sonic experience but give it time and im sure the experience will continue to develop into a cohesive gem. Good job Darling.

A chic atmosphere and cool space. I like that their cocktails change and are seasonal. I got the Leek and really enjoyed it. The menu itself is pretty short and concise. There is a flair of southern elements but through a California lens. My favorite dish was the Celery appetizer because of all the textures. Their burger seems to be the most popular since it’s limited. It has a slight gamey taste that gives it a robust meaty taste.

It was so good, I went 2 nights in a row. Met the chef/owner, Sean Brock on the first night. Very friendly & approachable. Food was amazing! Southern meets modern sophistication. Nice options on the menu. Love the live DJ spinning vinyl in the lounge & bar. Highly recommend!
