Seemed like a great spot but the service made it one of the worst vibes
On Wednesday, November 19, I met a couple of colleagues at E.P. & L.P. in West Hollywood for what should have been a smooth, elevated evening. The rooftop location and ambiance are undeniably strong but the service turned what should have been a good night into a downer over a simple gesture.
We were hanging at the bar waiting for the rest of our group to leave. One of my colleagues, who’d been on her feet working all day and hadn’t eaten anything, was visibly drained and could have used something small to hold us while we waited.
I asked the bartender, a younger, tall, dark haired gentleman for a few olives. He immediately responded in a dismissive tone: “We only have enough for martinis.” I explained that was fine, I’d even get a martini and just receive the olives but he looked away, shrugged, and said flatly, “Honestly no we just won’t be doing that.”I pressed a bit, politely but firmly: “Isn’t there a way to purchase a few olives, we’d really appreciate it.” He gave no further explanation and turned his attention elsewhere, leaving me standing there as if my request were a bother. Meanwhile, behind the bar I could plainly see a fridge stocked with olives and other snacks, and I watched other staff helping themselves.
At that moment I felt like I was begging for a small courtesy. It wasn’t just a “no” it was the attitude. Three staff members sat at the garnishing station, snacking on garnishes and chatting with each other, while we waited ignored at the bar. That discrepancy is not minor; it communicates that guests’ needs come second. For someone accustomed to venues where hospitality is part of the experience, this felt cheap and condescending.
For how much effort it takes to create such a nice place, the rooftop, the setting, the events, the ambiance it’s a real bummer to see it undone by unwelcoming staff. The venue is still top tier, but when the service leaves you feeling unwanted, we will undoubtedly not be back.

Super expensive for what you get. A lemon drop and a glass of wine was $45 + tip. Really terrible quality wine and glassware as well. Wouldn’t recommend.

Really disappointing experience. We paid to get in, but the bar closed right after and the lights were turned on almost an hour before the posted closing time. The bouncer was super unfriendly and the staff didn’t seem to care. Definitely not worth it — I wouldn’t come back.

I was stone cold sober but was given the most watered down drinks I've ever had. Literally a sliver of whiskey that the bartender DID NOT measure when she poured it, and then she added some kind of watery ginger ale. It tasted like bad tap water altogether. All for almost 40 BUCKS. I really should've gone back to the bar to let her know how bad it was. Absolutely insane. I don't see myself coming back here.

My boyfriend and I arrived at EP & LP to celebrate and were getting out of our car when a drunk guy walking in shouted, “DAMN, YOU ARE HOT!” at me. I said “thank you” to avoid drama, but he then muttered something like, “I’d kick your boyfriend’s ass.” This happened around 10:52 PM near the entrance, and the bouncer who was standing right there heard it.
We told the bouncer we felt unsafe and uncomfortable, and he basically said he couldn’t do anything unless the guy touched us. Allowing a visibly drunk and aggressive man into the venue after he harassed and threatened guests is unacceptable. We left because we didn’t feel safe. We had planned to spend a lot celebrating there and were even considering EP & LP as a potential event venue, but this completely ruined the night.
EP & LP needs to train its door staff properly. The bouncer on duty at 10:52 PM failed at the most basic responsibility: keeping guests safe.

The vibe and atmosphere of this place is beautiful with amazing view. We went for the brunch, the menu is very small and the food we chose was decent and affordable. The drinks were good and very cute. 8/10 recommend for a nice but chill outing.

Horrible treatment of my friend on her birthday. Asked to move tables for someone important. No one then came.
Out of almost everything (no steak fries one of only a few items on the menu), no frozen wine, asked us to move seats before others even arrived. Poor service, etc. we were here trying to celebrate a birthday. Beware prosecco is served in a coupe glass.
Went to brunch with some friends. There was a lot going on, a fitness event and a birthday but still I think they had the space for all of that and they managed to separate them well. Food was really tasty and the waitress was really attentive. Recommended.
