The food options are healthful yet delicious. Their focaccia bread is the best I've had. Dishes are hearty and flavorful, even for who prefer meat dishes. Order and pay at the counter. Staff are friendly and helpful. Parking- small, free lot in front, meters, or limited free residential parking

The best meal I've ever eaten. Esp under $30 a person and feeling absolutely amazing afterwards. Wow so much flavor so much energy you could actually see the color in the foods. This place better be here to stay

munch munch.... totally artisan, & made-from-scratch, dude!! Also, at these prices, it makes me wonder why other restaurants do not follow suit with the good food, good execution, fair prices method.

We catered my engagement party with Grain Traders. The food was absolutely phenomenal and arrived exactly on time an was perfectly prepared for my 45 guests. Before I placed my order, Gisela, the chef, allowed me to taste everyone I wanted to make sure I was ordering the right items. We ended up selecting steak, chicken & Salmon along with many of of vegetables and grain options. This is a place where everything on the menu is good and no item outshines another. It's very flavorful food so if you prefer bland, this isn't the place for you. We order at least twice weekly and we will definitely be using them again in the future for other parties. Thanks again, Dennis, Gisela, and the rest of the GT team.

Your "typical" healthy LA restaurant with a unique flavor profile that creates a beautiful plate of food. They have a BYOP method where you can choose from a variety of proteins, grains, veggies, pickles, and sauces. I highly recommend the chicken and hainanese style quinoa. The beetroot feta yoghurt sauce is to die for! And for a tiny kick, I recommend the coconut curry sauce as well. A little more expensive then I would like, but definitely worth it.

Great restaurant. Healthy food. Vegan and gluten free options.

Been here a couple times. The food has good flavor but there are a few things that can be improved: Once, the brown rice had hard bits which I had to pick out. I wish the veggies were not charred or blackened like the carrots. One time I came at 6:30 and the chicken was cold, hard and on the dry side. It had probably been left out for awhile. :( Better to go with salmon. My least favorite side is the one with the grapes because it's really mushy. The side that has been consistent is the broccolini; glad it's not burnt or charred like the other sides. The cakes and desserts by cash register should be covered just like the tarts.

Ambiance: this location used to be a tire and auto service shop, now the establishment has been converted into three different stores, Market Style Restaurant, Dessert Bar, and Tea & Coffee House, they have private parking lot, limited spots of one handicapped parking and five regular, and plenty street parking right in front, the restaurant has two outdoor dining sessions, the backyard with mini botanic garden, and the patio along the establishment, and you could also eat inside the cafe house, as the three stores running separately with their own entrance but under the same management Service: so friendly and patient with questions, introduced their items thoroughly and provided useful recommendations, also attentively served the food and water Food: simple menu with variety choices to combine different ingredients to make your own plate, food is pre-cooked and ready to order, choose one gain base, one protein, two sides of vegetables, one topping, one pickle and then sauce Salmon Plate - ***** Sustainable Salmon Trout, made with lemon, extra virgin olive oil, and curry leaf dressing, so juicy and tender, highly recommend Barley Risotto with Shiitake Duxelles - **** chewy texture, recommend GT Brown Rice Nasi Lemak - *** average taste Sautéed Broccolini - **** with Vegan Lemon Butter, Currants & Almond, fresh and crunchy, recommend Roasted Root Vegetables - **** with Caramelized Onions & Grapes, rich in flavors, recommend Activated Seed Mix with Wasabi - *** nuts topping Mixed Mushrooms and Seaweed Pickle - *** light taste Beetroot Feta Yoghurt - **** sour and refreshing taste, recommend GT Coconut Curry - *** creamy taste Price: moderate portions and reasonable prices for a satisfying healthy meal, expect $20+ per person, such a good spot for breakfast and lunch

Great food, service, and atmosphere! The food here is like high-end cafeteria style. You get a choice of protein, and a few sides. I ordered the steak strips, barley risotto (bomb), kimchi, roasted squash, sautéed spinach, and curry peanuts. Everything sounds so different yet the flavors came together perfectly. The steak was juicy and flavorful, not over cooked nor undercooked. The risotto was perfectly cooked, and the curry peanuts on top added a perfect crunch to it. The roasted squash was also yummy! I believe prices here are fair what what they have to offer - high quality food that is both filling and delicious. Oh, and please try their homemade chocolate chip cookies, soooo good!

Grain Traders is located north of Fairfax, after all the hype clothing shops! This location has a more mellow vibe, and a very tiny lot (I was lucky enough to snag a spot). The interior is quite small, but because they are set up with a fancy cafeteria vibe, you do get your food fast! Perfect for those who want a quick healthy lunch, or just super hungry and can’t wait. They have some seating outside the shop, and some in their small garden patio. It’s a really cute patio, but there were a ton of flies! I would sit in the front of the shop if possible. The plate includes the protein of choice, a grain, 2 sides, 1 topping and a sauce. I ordered the salmon, half brown rice, half risotto, broccolini, curry cauliflower, and the curry sauce. The salmon was really good, I really liked the skin! The brown rice was really tasty, and the veggies were also nicely flavored. I wanted to try some other veggies, but I’ll save that for next time. That cookie was also surprisingly delicious! I didn’t expect it to be so soft and gooey, it was almost like a cake! It was so good, I ordered two more for the road.Awesome place for some fun exotic flavors, and healthy vibes!

I was under the impression that this was another Poke bowl establishment, but wow was I mistaken. Although you do have the choice of Protein, Veg, sides and seasoning, it is from flavors around the world! Asian, European, South American, North American. It will give one the will to live another day and be healthy enough to get one there. Service was quick, friendly and affordable. Place was clean and open, with music not overpowering so one can still chat with their guests. I left feeling full and wanting more. Try it you will thank yourself.

I arrived at around 9:30 am...Jacoba & Joe were very helpful and made amazing recommendations! This place has soothing, minimalist, island-vibe decor in natural woods and a huge tree in the middle of the room. Outdoor seating is available as well. Consumed in-house: Avocado toast, $8.00 Honey cinnamon Oatmilk latte, $6.00 To go: Plum tart, $6.00 Oat, cacao, peanut butter raw energy ball, $3.50 Chia, cashew, beetroot raw energy ball, $3.50 Fig, date, pistachio raw energy ball, $3.50 The Only Cookie, $3.50 Everything was of the finest ingredients and delicious. The avocado toast is extremely Instagrammable as well as tasty. I especially loved the crunchy toasted bread that was something between a huge cracker and thin, grain-dense toast. Coffee fiends, please note that they don't "do" syrups like Starbucks. I am curious to come back and try their homemade orange and passion fruit bitters added to coffee. It sounds strange, but I'm down to try it! I'll be back!

I had the Tuna plate with risotto, eggplant curry, and pickled beets! Everything was thoughtfully made and the flavors completely each other wonderfully. Yum!

The layout at this place is cafeteria style, so honestly I didn't expect much at first. However, we were blown away by the food and atmosphere here. Everything behind the glass counter is clean, and the food looks both presentable and colourful. I ordered the salmon with barley risotto, broccolini, and roasted veggies. For dessert I had their homemade chocolate chip cookie. Everything was absolutely delicious and tasted as great as it looked. Nothing on my plate was disappointing! I'd highly recommend checking them out and trying anything they have to offer. My partner ordered the steak strips and her meal was extremely tasty as well. They have a cute bakery/coffee shop connected to the restaurant and it is extremely peaceful in there. Great for those who need to work on something or read a book.
