If your looking for great authentic russian,this is the place.its not fancy looking,decor is dated and it's a very small spot but I've been coming here for years with my russian friends families(birthday,funerals,or just dinner and drinks)if you want good russian food,this is a great place to eat it

Today was the last time I shopped at that store. I was shocked to see the owner handling food (syrniki) with bare hands. I strongly recommend avoiding this place - such disrespectful behavior is completely unacceptable.

I was so lucky to have this restaurant cater my wedding. Everything from the food, to the staff, to the planning was excellent. Every meeting we had with the owner, Arkady, made me feel like I was being taken care of and was very assuring. They came to our separate venue and handled everything - the cooking, the management of all staff (including the venue staff), and ensured that the timing of everything was up to the standards of our wedding planner. I couldn’t be happier with choosing them to cater our wedding. The biggest anxiety I had about food was whether the American side (my husbands) was going to understand the food /cuisine. However, during the wedding everyone RAVED about the food and majority of all courses were eaten up. I myself got to enjoy the leftovers the day after the wedding and can honestly say it’s some of the best Russian food I’ve had. Thank you so much to this incredible family for helping make our wedding so special and personal for our families.

If you want the freshest Eastern European food in Los Angeles then head to Kashtan. Not only will you be greeted by the nicest people, but the quality of their food is divine - especially their caviar, smoked salmon and white fish. Besides the Deli area, they also have a beautiful banquet room with tables for a perfect event.

The best caviar and lox in all of LA. This place is like a hidden gem but every other person you talk to has heard about it through someone in the community. The owner and his family are the absolute salt of the earth, and they have so many great options like their Pilaf, Pierogi’s, and sooo many different deli meats. So many great frozen foods too. I come at least once a week whether for a big haul or just some snacks. Very authentic touch too (Slava Ukraina)!

I bought two types of fish, sabrefish and some kind of red fish, pieces, the red one is second freshness, but the sabrefish is rotten, impossibly rotten, it stinks very much, ugh, I threw it away, but paid $32, expensive store, was here for the first and last time. Be careful not to get poisoned.

I would rate this place as 0 stars, horrible food quality, they keep food outside without refrigerator, I got food poison from russian salad that smelled and tasted like raw fish, never going there again.
