I've been coming here for the past two weeks while on holiday and i can't praise this place enough ! The food, coffee and service are on point! I often see the owner mingling with his guests and love how he knows most of them on a first name basis... including their dogs ! If you want a spot to chill, work and get away from the LA noise....stop by, you wont be disappointed! And did i mention the coffee.....FABULOUS

Finding this place is a bit tricky.
I would recommend more signs but they might not be able to implement that

Great cafe, love the atmosphere. Great for sitting outside and getting work done.
Strings of Life somehow manages to be both in the middle of everything and feel like a secret garden. Even when it’s packed (which it often is), there’s this easy, quiet intimacy to the place that makes it feel like a neighborhood retreat. Parking’s a bit of a test—tiny lot in the back, but I’ve never waited more than a few minutes to score a spot. Totally worth it.
The food is very good—bright, fresh, and well-considered without trying too hard. It’s the kind of menu where you find your go-to and then spend the next three visits trying to top it. And the coffee? Excellent. Strong, smooth, and clearly made by people who care about what they’re doing. Service is brisk but friendly, and the vibe is modern Aussie café with a touch of L.A. cool—think clean design, stylish crowd, and low-key chatter under the trees.
It’s rare to find a place this well-loved that still feels unhurried. Strings of Life pulls it off.

One of my go-to cafe spots for chilling and/or working during the week!
I love the location of Strings of Life - tucked just behind some buildings on the always buzzing Melrose Ave, it’s like a quiet & peaceful little hidden oasis right there.
I just always feel so relaxed while I’m here!
There’s an outdoor space with some tables and nicely cushioned chairs, in addition to the seating in the cafe itself.
The service is also very friendly and quick every time I go - my order is always ready in basically no time at all.
I find the employees here to be way friendlier and nice than a lot of other cafes in the WeHo area.
Food and drink items are mostly the usual prices you can expect for a cafe in West Hollywood, but everything is always very fresh and high quality!
I often use this cafe for doing some remote work during the week, and the WiFi is always very easy and quick to use.
I highly recommend this spot for either a quick escape from the busy streets of WeHo, or as a place for getting work done!

Thursday morning visit. They forgot my order and didn’t check in on me today anything until 30 min later. Then offered nothing and couldn’t refund my money so I have to call the manager later. Despite the place being empty. Heed the other reviews and avoid this place.

I think this is a decent breakfast option but nothing particular unique about the food, but it’s still good. It’s hidden off Melrose, so not easily seen and rarely busy

Best food and coffee, great service. Honestly best cafe food in LA, super high quality ingredients and proteins. I love everything here.
Came here for Australian-style coffee but tasted weak like the stuff you get everywhere else.
TLDR: go to Zinc or Urth next door.
Cute spot tucked away off melrose.
Service was rude.
Coffee is weak (they use one shot in an Americano).
The plastic smells rancid.
Prices are inaccurate. The printed menu says a lower price but the POS will charge you $0.50 more on your order. And they won’t change it
Make your pricing match the paper and electronic system and put two shots of espresso in an Americano.
