Let me start by saying that I’m only rating this location on Service since we didn’t have any drinks. Me and my wife were looking for a chill bar too celebrate her birthday so we ran into Bar 1200. We stepped inside to a very empty Bar with no one there except for two female employees that were doing absolutely nothing. Me and wife waited at the front for a couple of minutes expecting to be greeted by them but they acted as if we weren’t even there. Let me add while we waited up front they made eye contact with my wife but no acknowledgment, we had to get their attention and ask them if we just sit anywhere or what do we do. They responded with no care to just sit anywhere you want and that the menus are on the table to just scan the QR code. You walk into an establishment and expect to be greeted even just a “Hello, welcome in” anything but I guess to them that’s not what they’re about. Me and wife sat down at a table and we honestly felt that this wasn’t going to work out so we stepped out and before we left I went up and spoke to the lady’s at the bar. I respectfully told them how we felt and the reason why we were leaving. As I was explaining to them the manager walked up and I thought to myself great I can address this to him and he can fix this whole situation. Not to my surprise he didn’t care much either. He tried to make an excuse for them saying that they were busy dealing with a person at the bar. I didn’t know it took much to just greet someone coming in and making them feel welcomed. It was just a sorry excuse for poor service and even worst a manager not taking accountability. The look of the establishment is very nice but unfortunately the people running it need a lot of work on hospitality. I would never recommend anyone to come to this place. I wish I could of gotten the names of individuals that were working there, either way I hope anyone that does come here doesn’t experience what me and wife did.

For diver bar lovers! There’s a rotating chef / food pop up and reasonably priced drinks. Good hang!

I will say that the service, overall look of the bar, and music were appealing. As for the food options, it was fair, and the fish and chips were decent. For an airport restaurant, it was better than most places I've eaten at.

Great atmosphere that travels you back in time to the rock’n roll era, mb it’s also because of the patrons there and how A-list they look even if they’re not (chances are likely most of them are)We were staying at the Sunset Marquis and just walked in on a Saturday and had amazing cocktails so it was a good experience
I don’t write many hotel reviews, despite traveling a lot all around the world, because most places are just fine – they’re neither off the scale fabulous nor terrible. Have been coming to LA for 25 years and stayed in lots of different places in WeHo and BH. The Sunset Marquis is now the one I’m going to keep coming back to. Like most really good hotels, they seem to understand it’s first, second and third about the staff. I don’t care if you have a 50, 000 sq ft Spa and a cellar full of Romanee Conti if your staff are snooty and don’t know anything. Here, they are universally great, and not just FOH. Housekeeping, Valet, Gardeners – they’re all equally charming. The bar at Cavatina is low key, but in exactly the way you want it to be - really efficient barmen who know their stuff and don’t take 15 minutes to make a Martini. Great job, Sunset Marquis, keep it up.
Logan, Chase, William and the rest of the crew on the property are wonderful, cheerful, chipper, helpful and kind. The property is off the beaten path but close enough to jump right on. It is relaxing. The restaurant is outstanding and has a great vibe no matter the time of day. I always stay at this property when visiting LA and have been coming here since the mid-nineties. Never disappointed!
The location is excellent. It is like an oasis in the middle of West Hollywood. Convenient to everything. The hotel made my family feel extremely welcome. Chase and everyone at front desk and concierge staff were top level. Valet parking was easy and fast. Restaurant and bar was amazing. The rooms were beautiful with great amenities. This hotel has been owned by the same family since it started and the true friendliness shows. Great pool. I could keep going but you get the idea. There is no place else in LA that I would stay. Get a tour of the hotel. Major music history there. Celebs as well.

Wonderful property. My real home from home with incredible, professional team. Nothing too hard, from late checkouts to a simple smile and recognition as you walked through the property. Love this place. See you in January ?
During last call 1:45am server serves us our drink right before closing 2am & night manager is harassing us to swallow our drinks, he’s so fixated on me & my girlfriend & her friend there’s so many people chatting it up sitting. I asked why aren’t you harassing anyone else, I proceed to order an Uber while my friend is finishing her very expensive champagne & he’s just staring at us, he’s angry obviously & I asked him if he wants a hug, he gets agressive & says I’m “86’d” for asking if he wants a hug. I thought this was the rock & roll bar, for someone who’s roided up on steroids he has some pretty thin skin I was just trying to spread the love. Never again. Good grief, don’t serve us our drinks right before closing & get upset, the bar staff was great this night manager was a hot head.

the best staff team in all LA.. super friendly, polite, and helpful. Everyone is family and gets treated that way. Super WeHo location.. new menu in the restaurant is so good. Walking distance to restaurants, shopping.. easy to go everywhere. Beautiful grounds, good walk score.
After an incredible stay at one of LA's premier hotels we extended our trip 2 days and moved to the Sunset Marquis. We were not disappointed. The staff are super friendly, the rooms and fitness area are recently renovated and the restaurant not only has a cool vibe but serves incredible food at reasonable prices. With two pools, a lush garden setting and a theme promoting the hotels history of hosting some famous musicians for over 60 years the Sunset Marquis will be our choice for our next trip to LA.
The hotel smells like mold! The plumbing and air conditioning is decrepit! Every time we stay they say the owners ( Billionaires) are going to put money in to the refurbishment. 3 years later nothing has improved but the staff. This is an iconic hotel that should always be treated as such. Owners walk the halls and smell the mildew!!
