Perfect, in all the ways. Small authentic Japanese style, unassuming and yet incredible food. Watching the chef make each piece by hand for the entire restaurant was just as enjoyable as the flavors. Get the sushi and sashimi omikase if you love fresh fish.
Not since visiting the Tsukiji Fish Market in Tokyo have I enjoyed such a deeply satisfying sushi omakase. I chanced upon this spot while in town from Pittsburgh last night, visiting an old friend. The atmosphere was pitch-perfect for such a reunion: intimate, warm and welcoming. While the sushi was beyond amazing, the service and time it took to get the sushi was a wait. Expect to wait at minimum of an hour or so. There is only the sushi chef making food and not in order. We saw another table cancel their sushi because of the wait.
