Yo mama don't cook like this.Tu Madre is a cute little taqueria just off of Santa Monica, with absolutely amazing food. We ordered an array of tacos, all of which impressed:Fried Chicken: 9/10Sweet N Sour Chicken: 8/10Crispy potato: 10/10Crispy fish: 9/10KBBQ street taco: 10/10Carne Asada: 8/10Brisket: 8/10I've previously ordered food from Tu Madre via a delivery app and the food is equally as good. The one warning I'll give for the tacos is that they aren't the biggest portions, and they're served on individual plates. If you have a small table, you may run out of space if you order enough tacos to be satisfied.In addition to the large selection of tacos, they have an equally diverse drink menu. They offer margaritas by the pitcher, flight, and glass. If you order the flights, they come with a sparkler (as I said, the place is cute) for your social media memories. If you're not in a margarita mood, they also offer other cocktails and a sad selection of beer. I got a Madre Passion, which was spectacular, and my partner ordered a Deeply Rooted Issues, which was very citrusy.Tu Madre would be well on its way to five stars if it weren't for one thing. Service can be slow, which is the reason for dropping a star on the overall rating. I noticed the speed of service depended on where you sat. Unfortunately for us, we weren't at an advantageous table. I think we talked to our real server once. He didn't take our order, bring the food, or help us with the check. He checked in once or twice, but that was it. Thankfully, we were heading someplace else after dinner and didn't want a second drink. Otherwise, we might still be sitting there.Overall, go to Tu Madre for the food. Or, if you live close enough, order via a delivery app and enjoy the food without the annoyance of being ignored.

I got the margarita flight and asked the waiter if I could switch out the tamarindo for passion fruit and he got really annoyed and said it wasn’t allowed.. Think we got off on a wrong foot bc then our tacos came out and they were cold. We didn’t want to complain bc the margarita thing was already annoying so we just ate them lol.

Food was pretty tasty. The drinks on point and the vibe was pretty chill. Good indoor and outdoor seating and decor. That said…wasn’t particularly taken by the service. Food is brought out in batches and on the same plate regardless of who on your table placed the order.Party of 4 : We all placed our order at the same time (2-3 tacos each) - I got my 1st taco out, but had to wait while the rest of my table got their order. Meanwhile one of my friends only got his 1st taco around the time the rest of us were on our 3rd order which was kinda awkward….Idk…the service style seems to make it more complicated than what it has to be.

I love the ahi tuna taco and that guac was delicious - have had a variety of items from the menu and they've all been tasty!Wheelchair accessibility: They had a ramp, but as an abled body, I cannot say if it was entirely wide enough and accessible to be considered ada compliant - but it did have a ramp at the entrance

Only ever been to the Los Feliz spot but was on this side of town and wasn’t too familiar with the local eats and saw the name and knew I could go for a fried chicken burrito. The add-ons are pricey and as much as I love that truffle guac, I don’t think I wanted to give $6 for that. Otherwise, delicious burrito as I remembered it. My friend loved his braised beef burrito I picked up for him as well. Chips were fresh and all the sauces were well seasoned and tasty. Staff was friendly and made sure I was taken care of. Parking can be tough so might be a better spot for folks local on foot. Would happily go back if I’m the neighborhood again.
Beautiful outdoor dining. Service was friendly and capable, but a shift change mid-meal left us waiting a bit (in a pleasant atmosphere on a lovely day, so not really complaining--and if we had, I'm sure they would have leapt to service). The potato taco was a great texture and taste, if just a small appetizer. The breakfast burrito (yes, late in the day: with spinach tortilla and braised brisket) was very good and filling. I hope to try much more of the menu -- there were MANY compelling options -- but it is on the expensive side, especially the drinks. (Maybe occupying more of the menu than the food.) The water that came to the table, though, was picture-worthy in the pitcher, quite tasty...and complimentary. I'll save up for a drink at my next visit. : )Parking: There might be free street parking, too...but check to ensure it's not permit-restricted.

This place never disappoints. $2 tacos, amazing guacamole, crunchy chips, cutest little gay place.. but not SO gay that I can’t take my son.The water is what sticks in my mind though. Each table gets a pitcher dressed with mint leaves and an orchid head. So it feels like ‘taco stand’ meets fine dining.The staff is always nice, patrons are always super nice and fun vibes. I love this place.
