I'm disappointed for the treatment we received from an older hostess, despite reservation. While we were told to wait, others were 'waived through'.

Lunch Restaurant itself is beautiful. Excellent and fast service. Would return. Cocktails $27

Below is a review based on your experience:

Disappointing experience at The Sunset Tower Hotel Restaurant

My daughter had high expectations of this restaurant after having previously eaten here with her (white) husband. Unfortunately, without him our visit turned out to be a very different experience. From the moment we walked in, the treatment felt unprofessional and impersonal.

On arrival we had to wait at the bar for over 30 minutes, where we were completely ignored for the first 10 minutes before anyone bothered to offer us a drink. Meanwhile, we saw other guests who arrived later being served almost immediately.

When we were eventually shown to our table, it turned out not to be the table we had reserved. After having to wait again, we were assigned a spot right next to the kitchen door – a chaotic and restless location. The waiters were constantly getting in each other's way, trays and glasses were falling, and the whole thing radiated anything but professionalism.

What should have felt like a luxurious and relaxing evening turned into a frustrating and uncomfortable experience. Although the restaurant is known for its atmosphere and service, this was completely disappointing for us. We expect a much higher standard, especially considering the reputation of this establishment.

Unfortunately no repeat for us

Oysters were great, but cocktail was meh and my porkchop was too bland to eat. It came with an apple sauce that I really disliked and would have asked to replace, but once the plates dropped our server never returned to check on our meal. Nice ambiance, but not very happy to have paid for an entree I ate two bites of.

Always such a fan of Tower Bar for the ambiance, history, art deco designs, classic Americana bites, martinis made to perfection and the best staff in all of LA. They treat you like family. Always feel at home at the Sunset Tower ❤️

Such a lovely setting for lunch. Great view and awning covers the sun with a gentle breeze. Delicious food with lots of good options. The hummus made for a great start. The chicken club and burger stood out. Service is exceptional. I would eat there every week if i could. Servers very kind and treat you like family! Will be back!

Still one of the best restaurants in Los Angeles. The vibe.. the service.. the decor and the music! Our go-to for a fun night out as a couple or with friends. Keep up the good work!

Menu was too small. Lobster tacos were good but fell apart. Would have preferred lobster rolls. Maybe they should be crispy. French fries are the best. Ordered Cobb salad to split but it came on one plate so I requested xtra plate. I think our waiter was a bit overwhelmed so a lady manager came by and straightened everything out. As it was a birthday, we wanted cake and were served chocolate chip cookies (delicious btw). If I'd known, I'd have brought a cake. Staff are polite and helpful. Valet guys are terrific. I'd definitely come back for dinner but not for lunch.

Having dinner at The Tower Bar is like dining in an exclusive club. When we walked in, the piano player was on a roll with great songs from the past. Our waiter was personable and prompt. The food, as always, was exceptional and the wine list extensive. The Tower Bar is expensive but well worth it for a special evening out.

We book to celebrate a birthday and we're out into the main restaurant area. The noise of the music was so loud the you could not hear each other speak... what's the point of going out with friends if you have to sit in silence because the music is so loud that you can't be bothered there to communicate m?! Also it's really dark almost dreary!! We went on a summer LA night and it felt like a winter restruant in NY! We asked to be moved to the patio area but was told it was full and we would need to wait over an hour. I asked to speak to the manager and said that I would like to be accommodated outside somehow, he told me that was impossible as all tables were being used. Then a young girl said why doesn't he sit us at a slightly smaller round table?? We did that and it was fine. We overlooked the pool which is really bland they certainly need a few planters to soften a brick wall. They had sunbathing pads on the floor!!! Why?? Where are the loungers? The food was average, pigs in blankets were greasy and the carbonara was pretty tasteless so I had to add a lot of salt and pepper. Overall a very average night!

We went after the lunch rush, so the vibe wasn't as it normally would be, but setting and decor are great. I'm sorry to say, but the chicken paillard actually matched the terrible reviews that other patrons have given it - tasteless nothing! My wife is almost an expert on this dish and she said if this was her first time ordering it that she would never order it again!! I had the club sandwich and it was OK/good. I would consider going back for the after hours vibe which is supposed to be great after like 10 PM.
