So stoked to have a new local coffee shop that feels like my living room and garage combined into one. I didn't drink coffee often until you opened but now I just want an excuse to hang out at Thunder Road.

A colleague and I stopped by today to grab a few drinks for our team. Our office is nearby and this wasn’t our first visit. We met a young lady with pink hair at the counter and proceeded to place our order with her. We made it very clear that we had a large order and some of the orders were written with modifications that might be more typical for a Starbucks (where people assumed we were going) order, apologizing if some things were not necessarily on their menu. She was uninviting to begin with and responded in a way that made her seem irritated to even take our order. Not even two drink orders in, she began to sigh, roll her eyes and glance back at whoever was sitting behind her, as if to show she was annoyed and what we’re ordering was absurd; god forbid someone wanted coconut milk and you simply tell us you don’t carry it, and we move on with at alt. The glances were continuous throughout the ordering process, so we literally had to wait a moment to regain her attention each time. Her tone was impatient and passive aggressive, and as someone who isn’t an avid coffee drinker, I wasn’t completely aware of what additional notes should have automatically been addressed with some orders over others.. ie iced, hot, type of milk available, types of syrup offered etc so of course she didn’t hide her frustrations there. Her demeanor was as if she was annoyed to even be making drinks. Once the transaction was complete she turned away from the computer, so I reached to grab the receipt and she snatched it from the printer, placed it down on the counter in front of her and turned again to begin making the order. With my hand still out, I asked her for a printed receipt. She clicked a few buttons to print and stepped away again so I reached over, once again to try to get the receipt. Rude. In the process of making the order, another barista appeared, saw the ticket, made a face 🥴 and asked our barista a question to which she responded in a snarky tone “idk I guess murphys law, but if there weren’t any orders we would be crying..” Confused and regretting the obligatory tip, we looked at each other wondering if she just didn’t want to be there making orders and was taking it out on us with the passive aggressive service. Nonetheless, she finished, she slid the drinks over without a word and we left. They weren’t that great, which tracked given her disgusting attitude and we absolutely don’t have to patronize this shop again, if that’s the way we should expect to be treated. Don’t be in a customer facing service industry if you can’t at the very least be pleasant.

Great neighborhood cafe! Would love to bring my laptop and work here- so much seating and who knew they had an expansive back patio?! They also serve beer and wine. I got a cold brew to-go and it was delicious!

Walked in and there was a short line of people looking frustrated. As we waited we heard the two barista ladies loudly complaining about customers asking questions. Their disdain for the customers was so loud I left immediately. If your staff so openly disrespects your customers right in front of them I can only imagine what they are doing in the back 🤮
I ride and love motorcycles and this is a cool place but wifi was hit and miss for me. it worked eventually tho
Love this place for coffee/drinks/hanging out

Cool place for a casual beer.
Discovered this place yesterday post tennis match at near by Poinsettia Park. Great space to recap the match with friends while sipping a nice bottle of rose.

Came on down to Thunder Road on my way to Brokeback Mountain. Boom, this place has it going on… I’m a coffee shop enthusiast, I try as many as I can, and I’m picky about where I return. The vibe is the perfect balance of cozy (but not dark or dusty), homey (but clean and 0% boring). No matter where you sit, it’s cozy. Those industrial, hard-seat coffee shops cannot even kiss my assbecause I’m sitting here instead.
Whoever did the design in here is amazing. It’s got the calming color palate of nature with the edge of motorcycle getup (kinda like the feeling of cruising through SoCal landscapes with the wind in your hair). The coffee is good and reasonably priced, and it’s the kind of place people come back to. You can tell there are a bunch of regulars who frequent here. This place isn’t trying to be anything, it just is.
Ps—Secretly hoping one of these biker dudes will eventually take me for a ride on their motorcycle
