Came in tonight for dinner and was mind-blown.
The miso eggplant is not only the best eggplant I have ever had, but one of the best bites of food I’ve ever eaten. It will be something I crave often now.
Staff was incredibly attentive and kind, the server Charles was a true professional.
Can’t recommend this place enough, I will be back many more times!

The staff here are fantastic, and the service is VERY good and friendly. One of the chefs was even nice enough to help us get out of the garage even though the parking attendant left.
I had this on my list for a long time but I was a bit disappointed with the food for the price point, however. The eel was good, but not $70 good- flavor was decent but it was not as meaty as some other places I've had, and more bony. The agedashi tofu was too much frills and not the right texture. Tempura and karaage were good, the rolls not so much.

First thing first, food was good, but we had a really bad experience dining here.
It took so long for them to take our order. Apparently only one server was “allowed” to take full order of food and the other one was only allowed to take starters. It was not even fully booked. There were empty tables.
The unagi was good but the rice tasted cheap or poorly made. I would expect more when I paid 100 dollars per person.

Basically no service. Waited 30 minutes to place our order for no reason.
I ordered unagi rice. Extremely overpriced. Unagi is supermarket quality. What’s most unacceptable is the rice. I expect much, much, much higher quality rice when you charge the unagi rice for $70.
Overall, avoid it!

One of my favorite restaurants in WeHo to enjoy a Japanese meal. I enjoyed a round up of dishes twice in a week including the unagi ochazuke, sunomono, tuna hand roll, hijiki, agadashi tofu, and chanwanmushi. The service was on point and the chefs are quick and skilled.

Unbelievably amazing unagi - the best in LA hands down. Service is impeccable, and the ambiance is like being teleported straight to Japan!
Food is ok, never had a cucumber salad with such thick skin that’s hard to chew. And the eel is ok, had a special occasion booked but no one mentioned or cared about anything, service was meh, eel was meh too ochazuke soup pretty bland, the eel liver was bitter :/
Parking and booking was easy that’s the good part.

I've been tokyo for unagi at watabe which is a pretty high rated restaurant. Somehow toku unagi taste better even though they import their unagi from Japan which is really mind blowing. They do their tea with unagi so much better. Their sashimi is also very fresh and cut perfectly. Is pricey but not that pricey when you think you don't need an airplane ticket to get something similar but taste better than in Japan.
Authentic unagi house! Love the food, the hospitality, and the jazz music! What a gem in West Hollywood! I'm grateful to find it so should you.
Toku Unagi is hands down the best place for freshwater eel in LA. As the only restaurant in the city focused on unagi, their eel is perfectly grilled, tender, and full of flavor. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, making the experience even better. If you’re a fan of unagi or want to try something unique, Toku Unagi is a must-visit! Highly recommend! @sushitraveler
This is one of the most exciting places to come to if you are interested in trying some of the best sushi one can have around Hollywood and LA.
The Bluefin Tuna sashimi was to die for and all of their other fish simply had been not only delicious, but also very well crafted into various rolls.
The staff was super friendly and very helpful to accommodate our newborn child at the time.
I highly recommend to go visit this place and to give it a try. You will miss out and have fomo if you didn't go.
Toku Unagi and Sushi is a nice Sunday lunch spot. Unagi and Udon was a perfect light lunch and good flavors and Udon was perfectly cooked.
