This is one of our fav restaurants when we visit LA. This time it didn't seem to be as good. The guac was noticeably smaller and food was just ok. Plus the website says to park at the Design Center for $6 but is inaccurate. It's $18 and the same as valet. Disappointing.
We've been to Gracias Madre many times and will probably return many times because we love the ambience and we love the cocktails. The food, however, it's just OK. I've never had anything that outright tasted bad, but 50 or 60% of the time I am underwhelmed by the flavor of the dish (and I'm not really a harsh critic). Some things on the menu are very good, like the fajitas, but I'm the kind of person who likes to get different things every time...
It was my second time here. The food is excellent. We went with the server's favorites, and so glad we did! Prices are reasonable - especially for the location. I recommend Gracias Madre!
