Brunch at the Grill, sitting on the paito, is always memorable. It's the kind of place where the waiter remembers you, your drink order and how you like your dishes prepared. Service is always top notch, food is amazing....order the truffle fries if you get the chance. We will greatly miss this place and the people working there who made it so special over the past several years.
Entire experience was great! They obviously read the notes with my reservation. Greeted us happy anniversary. Server, Vicky, was attentive and friendly. The complimentary dessert with the sparkler at the end was great.
Hadn't been back here in a while and it's still does not disappoint The steaks and grilled meats are still top notch, the sides are terrific, the lobster bisque is one of the best in the area and the chicken pot pie is very unique and absolutely to die for One of the still great restaurants post pandemic
The bartender was very nice, social and made great drinks. Love the food. Our waiter was very attentive and friendly. I highly recommend this place. We just found out they have Happy Hour everyday from 3 to 6. We will be there.
Outdoor patio was beautiful. Food was very good; steaks awesome. Hadn't been in a while, but it appears they no longer provide the complimentary bread prior to the main. Service was unusually slow. Our waiter had several tables and always seemed distracted. Twice we had to ask for our waiter so we could order.
Generally very good food and excellent service. But the rib eye steak was ordered medium and should have been pink inside but it was over cooked and brown. We didn't send it back because we didn't want to wait. Otherwise it was very good. Waiter was terrific.
Sadly, this restaurant used to be one of our Favorites! It was always bustling with people in the bar, in the restaurant and those trying to get into both. Now, it is a ghost town. I suspect this starts at the top and works its way down. There were only four occupied tables (at 7:30 on a Thursday evening), including ours and it took longer to receive service, food or check than if the place were standing-room-only. The worst part though, was that the food just wasn't worth the wait. We unfortunately will not be returning as it has been progression to get to this point.
Visiting from out of state and had a fantastic experience. Staff was very attentive and accommodating. The weather was so nice we sat outside on the patio. Their Happy Hour items are a real bargain without cutting corners. Especially if you are an oyster lover. Would come back and definitely recommend.
Thought it would be a good experience - good service, nice atmosphere. But my steak was over cooked and bland, and my wife's steak had a very bad taste. We asked for a replacement, it was provided, and it had a very bad taste as well - hard to describe: like plastic smoke. They did comp her meal, and the service was gracious. I don't think I'll go again.
Not as good as we are accustomed to. We frequent this place a lot and the experience is usually a lot better. Both the food and the service were well below what we've come to expect. I guess we just caught them on a bad day.

We usually really like it here, which is why we continue to come back. However, we didn't have the best experience this time around. Our waitress and her ability to provide the level of service we've experienced previously fell very short. Not sure if she's new or that her service style isn't a match for this restaurant. I won't go into details on the many unprofessional things that happened, but we did intentionally cut our evening short in order to preserve our opinion on the restaurant overall and possibly return in the future.
This place was amazingly good after a long hike and beach day.We had the crab and corn fritters you cannot go wrong with this starter. It had a jalapeño sauce that accompanied the dish. Chefs kiss. Just splendid. pomodoro pasta and salmon with baked baby potatoes.Darren and Jasmine (probably spelled both of their names wrong, sorry guys) were very sweet and accommodating. Nice ambiance for dining outside in this perfect California weather.Oh and let’s not forget the cheesecake that comes with a raspberry coulis. Just deliciousss
Loved it! Great service as well as the food and wine. We live in Michigan and when we come to visit our daughter in Thousand Oaks we always visit The Grill. See you again soon.
Everything was great except I think all the flies and flees and mosquitos in the area came to the restaurant to torture it's patrons. Got 4 mosquito bites. we had to shoooooo so many flying insects, our dinner was not that enjoyable. Good food though.
Terrific dining experience! Our waiter was great and knowledgeable. Our food and cocktails were DELICIOUS!!!! We shared the tomato burrata salad and beef carpaccio for the table. Both amazing. And then two got the rib eye, one filet and one Chilean sea bass. Everything was excellent and cooked as we requested!!! Also leave room for the chocolate cake! Can't wait to go back.
