I haven’t been here in a long time, and this used to be one of the original locations before they started opening everywhere. My sister originally put me on this place because of the green tea salt, which I still think is one of the better parts.
We came for the lunch special ($21.99), and honestly… not worth it.
The beef belly had way too much sauce — it tasted like straight fat and sugar. The people I was with liked it, but it wasn’t for me. I ordered brisket, and it came out in thick, stacked chunks that were basically frozen together. I had to wait for it to break down and peel the layers apart before cooking. Easily one of the worst briskets I’ve had.
Overall, the meat quality was bad and everything was bland. Even the prime steak made my friend’s stomach hurt, and we cooked it thoroughly just to be sure.
Sides didn’t save it either:
Japchae had a little flavor at first, but once you ate anything else, it tasted like nothing.
Kimchi fried rice was very bland — some weird drizzle on top that didn’t help.
Korean sweet pancakes at the end were good.
The little mango dessert with sauce was just okay.
This place feels like it focuses more on having lots of options rather than good-quality meat. It’s probably fine for people who want to eat everything except Korean BBQ and don’t really care about flavor.
But for me? Not even worth the lunch special, and I wouldn’t come back.

Please listen to the reviews. This is hands down the worst restaurant experience I’ve ever had. The service was trash. They ran out of cups for drinks….thats right. We were left without water for 90% of our meal. The servers are trash and this place is terrible. Please listen to this warning

Omg.. bad bad bad.!!! Worst Worst Worst!!! Don’t go this place.. so bad!!! Service was horrible bad. Worst place Worst Service. When they got ordered and they disappeard never came back right away. Super Slow !!! takes more than 30 minutes. And brought up to table with only one pieces of meats. then left. Service, their Management totally not organized. Fire was so weak so we can’t cook faster we want. We ask them need some bigger fire they said this is maximum. Whatta Horrible!!! So we ask move table. After we moved But their services still same. Very Lazy !!! Super slow never coming back faster. We felt so hunger while seating table. Table was only full with the rice bowl and Salad, but No meats on the table. Also their Meats are all Junk with fattty ffat. No marbling meat. So hard to Chewing and we can not eat because it’s so hard and so rough. That meat taste like leather. Their fatty meats came up every time we ordered still the same bad. Nothing good!!! we can’t see good quality at all. It’s really bad so we can’t eat. We ordered hot Soon-Tofu that came up with no tofu inside it has only soop base with one piece of bezzy. No Tofu inside bowl. It was like hell hell hell yesterday. Really Hell place here.~~~You must regret here when you come at Gen Korean bbq at Huntington Beach on Beach blvd. ( South of Edinger )

The never have sake or red win (the last 3 times) be prepared to wait at least 30 mins in between for the waitress to even acknowledge you

Extremely slow wait times, slow service. When we asked for rice our waiter said they didn’t have any. Which is excusable but then 5 minutes later the table next to us gets served rice. We then ask the waiter if they now had rice, he said yes. Comes back and tells us actually, theyre out of rice. 5 minutes later, the table next to us gets served rice AGAIN. We ask the waiter one more time if they have rice, for the hell of it. Nope still don’t have rice. What kind of Kbq doesn’t serve rice 😂. Also they served our drinks way after our food came out and they were wrong. We gave our drink back to get the one we actually ordered and it must’ve taken atleast 30 minutes before we got our actual drinks. Extremely slow wait times for orders. Extremely poor service. All the staff looks miserable and like they want to end their lives. Some of the worst service ive ever received at any establishment. We left the place still hungry because portions were so small and wait times were so long. Waste of time and money. This business shouldn’t be running.
