Worst Chinese food I have eaten in California. Expensive too. Its Ants Climbing the Tree has no meat at all, only noodles with hot sauce.

I've been going to this restaurant for nearly 3 decades. This is still our family favorite for traditional Korean style Chinese food. Their Jampong and Jjajangmyun always hit the spot. Their staff has also remained mostly the same since we first started going here. Food is always delicious and consistent.

Great family on business. I've been eating here for years. I like to support my neighborhood restaurants and this is one of my favorites.

Food variety and taste were spot on. We enjoyed the speedy service and great tasting dishes. I would urge the owner to make the restrooms more fresh and clean to give guests better experience.

This is a great restaurant for authentic Beijing food. Service is good. Ambiance also very pleasant.

Summary: good good, reasonable price, cash preferred, might or might not come backI decided to try this place and ordered their hot and spicy soup in large size (due to my craving) along with the lunch special Mongolian beef. The lunch special included a portion of warm and soft rice. The Mongolian beef, while tender and flavorful, tended to be a bit on the salty side when eaten on its own. However, when paired with the white rice, the flavors balanced out.The hot and spicy soup was a bit pricier compared to other places, but it proved reasonable as it included meat, unlike some places offering a no-meat variety. The soup lacked the distinctive dark soy sauce color, but the flavor was satisfactory--neither too spicy nor too sour. However, after about two hours, the soup's texture changed, losing its thickness, indicating that the cooking time might not have been optimal.Parking could be a challenge during lunch hours. It's worth noting that they prefer cash, as a 3% fee is applied when using cards for payment.

Once again we had the best tasting meal of our trip to LA at the Peking Restaurant. We have enjoyed the superb potstickers and other dishes for the past 37 years. They are wrapped and made in the authentic Northern Chinese style, with twice the size and twice the crispy surface area of other restaurants that simply try to pan fry a regular short dumpling. I found out that the filling ingredients are still chopped by the same 90 year old chef, and she still sometimes cooks at the wok! Northern style dumplings are best enjoyed with a splash of vinegar, which they had on the table along with soy and chili sauces. We also discovered a new favorite dish, chopped long beans and ground pork stir fried with fermented black beans and peppers. The sliced fish and tofu in broad bean sauce was also great. Both dishes I had not seen elsewhere. We got the smaller lunch special size for both and they were easily enough to share. Other standout dishes we've had before include the best basil eggplant -- I used to dislike this vegetable until I had their basil eggplant (for more on this, check love2chow.com and search eggplant). The boiled dumpling filled with pork and cabbage, the Chinese chive stuffed pan fried dumpling, sliced fish with special wine sauce and hand made noodles are also delicious. This place has been serving authentic Peking/Beijing homestyle foods for the past 41 years. The decor has not changed much. It is clean, simple and a bit dated, with ample round tables around which to enjoy great Chinese food and conversation. While they serve tasty versions of standard Chinese restaurant fare, they also have lots of unique choices. They have photos of many dishes, so try something new!

We went here for dinner. The food was ok good. We ordered the roasted beef green onions pancake and a noodles dish made with in-house noodles, which were suggested by the lady owner. We were told that both dishes were the house specials and people go there specifically for them. While they were good, we experienced better beef pancakes in Pasadena(crunchier pancakes and juicier beef). The house noodles were chewier and not as tasty as the traditional chow fun noodles. The lady was very nice and friendly. That is probably why the restaurant has high ratings. To us, the food was ok good!

I was actually afraid to go into Peking because it is hidden in a small shopping center location had a couple of sketchy cars and people. It's also surrounded by construction areas at the moment- so we weren't sure if he was open or not. I was even more skeptical when I saw the outside of the location, and how the signs look- not the best if I'm being completely honest. We walked in, and we're looking around to see if there was someone available and the server was so nice and seemed excited that we arrived to dine in. She was so sweet, immediately sat us down and took our drink orders. She had one other table that was dining in, and they knew each other pretty well. Then our food came and every single thing was AMAZING!!! Everything was fresh, full of flavor, hot, and authentic! Seriously. Give this place a shot. Do not be afraid of the area; or of the dated look. This place is legit. The service is quick, the take out orders are more than the dine ins. I loved it from the beginning to the end and I'm so sad I only went once during my trip- but I'll be back!
