One of my daughter’s favorite spots! I’ve passed by many times, and she finally convinced me to check it out. It’s located outside the Bank of America plaza on Bolsa and Magnolia, with easy and plentiful parking.
The vibe is lively and welcoming, like a family cookout. They grill pork off the spit, and beef and chicken slow cooked to perfection, all served in warm, small corn tortillas. The organized sauce bar lets you customize, and the cooks grill onions to your liking.
Tacos are $2 each, an amazing deal for the quality! I’m usually not a taco person, but their beef taco was surprisingly flavorful and delicious. Definitely come back!

BEST TACOS IN GARDEN GROVE!!!!
This place is an absolute must! Everything from the meats, to the tortillas, to the sauces, even the customer service, EVERYTHING was spectacular!!! This is was my first time here and it was everything i ever wanted from a taco place. I highly recommend going here, if you’re passing by or a local, it’s a perfect place for some delicious tacos!!

One of my favorite street tacos. It's a really reasonable price. $2 per taco or $10 per burrito and their large drinks are $5. 100% reccomend getting the dragon fruit refreshers. I prefer getting the burrito over tacos because the burrito 🌯 includes so much meat. Probably more meat than 5 tacos. Keep in mind there is usually a competition between tacos El May and a food truck. Tacos El May is the taco stand not the food truck. Yes the food truck is good but the stand is 10× better. I come here almost every Saturday.

The food was undeniably delicious, but the experience was overshadowed by an unsettling scene at the cooking station. I noticed the cook dipping a rag into a grimy bucket filled with dirty water, and there was a propane gas tank sitting in the bucket as well, then used that same rag to clean the griddle. While the flavors were impressive, witnessing such questionable hygiene practices has made me hesitant to return. The lack of cleanliness left me deeply concerned, and unfortunately, it's an image I can't easily forget.

I always have to go to LA to get the best tacos, but now this is right in my backyard!! Definitely get their suadero and al pastor. I love it and taco or burrito form.
The salsas are amazing. The avocado sauce is very avocado-y and thick. The green salsa has got a kick and the limes are always juicy. I haven’t tried their drinks yet, but they look good.
Try to go at off hours because the line can get very long (~45 min) at peak times. I typically like to go right at opening or after 8pm.
The one thing I haven’t been able to figure out is their exact hours. I went on a Friday night at 10:20pm and they’re supposed to be open until midnight according to Google but they were not there. Also on holiday weekends, they are often not there, so have a back up in mind when you go.
Tip: try to go when the man is at the chopping board (rather than the woman) because he is a lot more generous with the ratio of meat (it makes a big difference when you bite into a burrito of mostly rice versus meat). I’ve had the man every single time except for once and it really changed my experience. This review is based on when the man is serving.

Why is this location on a busy street that is so noisy and full of drug addicts, homeless, and other nefarious criminals? I need to know why! This place is a real nightmare to do business in!!!
