Food was good. Service was good. I had the Vegetarian rice noodles with Lemongrass Tofu. My mom had the broken rice with chả. We ordered hot tea but it was served in a plastic cup instead of a ceramic mug.

The food is amazing. Nothing beats this! Its comforting and also delicious. Its a family owned resturant thats been running longer than I've been living. Wait staff and the employees are nice and want the best for you. The food comes out super fast and is still really good quality. The cha gio is superb they have a really good crunch from a special cooking technique.

No wonder they started advertising on the Vietnamese channels. Their food is subpar, bordering on inedible. We got the rice plate with bbq pork and they gave us mostly fatty thin pieces that looked and tasted like they were cooked twice. Very very disappointed.

This restaurant used to have a line out the door when I was last here before the pandemic. It's still busy but luckily no lines this time when we visited on a weekend for lunch. We were seated and our orders were taken within minutes. They are known for their Com tam (broken rice) dishes so that's what we ordered.
Funny enough our food took awhile to come out. Portions were large and my pork chop was delicious. Very flavorful and still moist. I was a little disappointed in the Tau hu ky (shrimp mousseline). It was a little plain and oily. The stream pork cake was ok.

Beef is very sweet and dry, and the triangle yellow egg thing is VERY porky, must used very bad quality of ground pork to make it, and has a lot of clear noodle in it. Worst I have ever had.. I couldn’t eat it.
Everything is so sweet, the meat, the shrimps, the egg rolls, etc Obviously they like to put a lot of sugar to cook the food.
The meat quality is so bad, I wouldn’t eat again for free!
The worst I ever had! Don’t

Restaurantji Recommends
Had a craving for Com tam xuong (broken nice plate), a friend recommended this place and got one to go. Ordered the grilled pork, bì(shredded pork and skin with rice flowers). The classic rice plate. Came with your choice of protein, bì, steamed egg cake, pickled veggies(chunk cuts of cabbage and carrots) with their version of fish sauce dip. Good and filling meal bot no frill.

Updated menu prices
I’ve visited Com Tam Thanh a couple times with family, and it’s become one of our go-to spots for Vietnamese broken rice. While it doesn’t quite reach the level of the best I’ve had in Vietnam, it’s still very solid by Little Saigon standards, especially for a casual meal.
I usually order the Cơm Tấm Sườn, Chả, Nem, Tàu Hủ Kỳ, and the combination is well-executed. The grilled pork chop (sườn) is flavorful with a light char and tender texture. The egg meatloaf (chả) is moist and seasoned just right. The shrimp paste wrapped in bean curd (tàu hủ kỳ) adds a crispy contrast, and the nem (cured pork roll) has good balance without being overly tangy.
The rice is cooked just right — fluffy but firm enough to support the toppings — and their fish sauce is balanced, not too sweet or diluted. Sides like pickled veggies, lime, and jalapeños are a nice touch for those who want to adjust the heat and acidity.
The atmosphere is simple and clean, and service is efficient. It’s a typical Vietnamese eatery setup — not fancy, but focused on food and speed. Prices are very reasonable for the portion (we usually spend about $10–$20 per person), and the dining room is kept tidy and well-run even during lunch rushes.
Overall: 4.5/5.
Not the most refined experience, but very dependable. For anyone craving a solid plate of com tấm with variety and flavor, this place delivers.
