Went here for their egg and salted ice coffee. Coffee was strong just the way I like it. One of my favorite coffee spot. Nice environment and the coffee was ready quickly.

DO NOT GO HERE PLEASE 🆘⚠️‼️ As a certified matcha drinker, the matcha here is not authentic. I tasted matcha before in Vietnam and it tasted very similar to the one served here. Absolutely artificial in taste. If you value your time, money, and digestive system, go somewhere else

Drip coffee was excellent as was the waffle. But the table tops were worn and chairs need attention.
Why the low score? The BATHROOM was HORRENDOUS. There were no paper towels - I resorted to the use of toilet paper to turn the door knob to exit. The toilet paper itself wasn’t even placed in the dispenser. The soap dispenser was empty. The tiny bottle of hand soap in its stead was also empty. So with what are the staff washing their hands? The store was empty and I can see why, unfortunately. Great coffee and poor hygiene equals a failed business in the long run. It’s really a sad waste of a great product. Dang Le Nguyen Vu and Le Hoang Diep Thao should be embarrassed by this location.

1. The matcha drink was well-crafted as I could really taste the banana in the cream top!
2. The spot has busy casual vibes with a crowded interior!
3. The staff was friendly and timely with my order! It was ready in 5 mins!
Note: There is a restroom available for customers!

Nice upscale Vietnamese coffee shop. The coffee was so good. A lot of Vietnamese coffee spots make theirs super sweet (if you do the traditional with condensed milk), but this place has some strong coffee and you can adjust the sweetness level of your coffee!

We also had the pandan waffle which was really good. I’ve eaten pandan waffles since I was a kid and those are usually pretty sweet as well, but this was a good in between of being a treat and not super sweet.

Would definitely recommend coming to try their coffee and pandan waffle if you get the chance!

They offer zero sweet coffee options.

As someone who grew up in Vietnam in the 1990s, I’ve known the Trung Nguyên Legend brand for decades. Back then, their cafés were considered upscale — especially popular among older Vietnamese who took their coffee seriously. I remember iconic locations like the one across from Đầm Sen on Hòa Bình Road. I was too young to sit down at one of those cafes then, but the impression of “elevated Vietnamese coffee culture” stuck with me.

Now living in the U.S., I finally had the chance to experience a Trung Nguyên Legend café in person, this time in Westminster. I ordered the signature Legend Coffee and Vietnamese milk coffee — both priced higher than typical fast-serve coffee options, which I expected from this premium brand.

The flavor was bold and unmistakably strong. I brew Vietnamese coffee at home every day using a traditional phin filter with beans imported from small-town producers back in Vietnam, so I’m used to this style. But this blend from Trung Nguyên was noticeably more intense, with a richer bitterness and a thicker mouthfeel — almost nostalgic.

It brought back vivid memories of old rituals: a roadside black coffee, a cigarette in hand, and a quiet morning. I’ve quit smoking for years, but this cup almost made me crave that pairing again. That says something about how powerfully it connects to the cultural roots of Vietnamese coffee habits.

Experience-wise, I’d say the shop leans more modern and fast-casual than what I imagined from the original Trung Nguyên cafés. Maybe it’s the smaller footprint, or the contemporary design — it didn’t quite capture the slower, contemplative vibe I associate with the brand back in Vietnam. There, the shops were large, atmospheric, and set up for people to sit for hours. This one felt more like a stylish coffee stop than a place to linger long.

That said, it was still a meaningful experience — especially for anyone familiar with Trung Nguyên’s legacy. It delivers on quality and cultural flavor, even if the U.S. version feels a bit more streamlined for modern convenience.

Universal Experiences

There’s something about Trung Nguyên that just feels rooted. It’s not just a coffee shop — it’s part of Vietnamese culture. The kind of place where the roast speaks louder than the branding. Bold, deep, unapologetically strong. It doesn’t chase trends — it sets them.

This isn’t your sweet, fluffy boba drink. This is Vietnamese coffee the way it’s supposed to be — roasted dark, layered with energy, and just the right kick of legacy. The phin coffee here reminds you what real drip is. Their egg coffee? Smooth, creamy, but still carries that weight underneath.

It’s one of the oldest and most respected names in the Vietnamese coffee world — and you can taste why. You don’t just sip it. You feel it.

Come for the strength. Stay for the silence between sips.
A legend for a reason.

Love the coffee here and the variety of flavors, the staff is nice however when I asked about coffee jelly having gelatin the lady at register responded I don’t think so….she seemed unsure and she seemed to not wanna ask anyone either… ? it’s always good for the staff to know what goes in what they make if they work at cafe or food store….? oh well not too big of downer again the coffee and the pandas waffle was great!!

Mostly people live on the Internet are yelling and Screaming on here including the Drama and the one that don’t know the Values of Prices are On here…
But Here Come the Honest Review:
I’m a Big Fan Of Coffee and from Trung Nguyen Coffee I have been trying all of theirs Instant Coffee types and It’s The Best compared to others ones, even theirs Instant Coffee already “cooked” all others Coffee Brands.
Unfortunately, i drove all the ways to Orange County to try the coffee they make in Stores, and there were too many Options so I asked one of the Cashier who’s working there for Options, I told him I wanted Strong Coffee Aromatic Smell like the Legend Milk Instant Coffee for ToGo. but he Offered me Creative 5 that I later check that have only 3/5 Coffee Beans ? Rate on the Menu, which Taste Exactly Like Starbucks Coffee, that’s only 1 block near my House and I Don’t Really Like it at all ( and I drove 40 minutes to tried my favorite brand of Coffee) since they don’t have the Store at the Local place where I live.
So Disappointed ~TT-TT~
